Sorry everyone for the extreme delay in setting this contest, life kinda got in the way, but without further ado, here is the new AV contest. Normal rules apply and as Paxman often says on University Challenge, there is no need to repeat them. So anyway, the contest is "Your idea of Heaven." Now I'm not looking for the obvious/clichéd religious iconology of St Peter at the pearly gates and the afterlife (but enter that if you want by all means), but more what you find heavenly, so for example, I find walking through an old wood with all the noises and smells that go with it my idea of heaven, so my entry will represent that.- I hope this makes sense, if not, just ask and I'll answer in a more timely manner. I'll leave the contest open until noon on Monday (GMT) and I look forward to seeing all the entries.
great idea! For me it would be walking through Autumn leaves on a dirt road...can't wait to see the entries. No, I never actually enter, but I love to see what other people enter.
Seeing that I am a true movie fanatic, my version of paradise would have to look something like this:
You'd have to walk, though. Tempting. But ultimately, when I'm most at peace with myself, is lying in bed with a cat snuggling up to me.
^^ I know the feeling. I know, I was just kidding. I meant that that avatar pretty much captured my idea of heaven. But I have another idea.
All great entries. One hopes there are more than three come Monday given there have been a fair few views of this thread.
My Version of "Heaven" would be to spend my time exploring all the places in this very interesting Solar System! ETA: Self-Disqaulification, due to inability to comprehend! Sorry...I need a vacation!
^ Who let that dwarf planet photobomb the family portrait? (PS - I think your image might be a little too large for the contest...)
Yes, HIjol, I think you may have missed the "av contest" part of the thread title. But you could easily make an avatar with astronauts or space travel of some sort.
Come back, @HIjol ! Here, I made this for you: I even kept Pluto in for you! I tried to make one with a smoother transition between the planets, but I had to shrink it way down to fit within the 140 Kb limit. (My animated gif skills aren't that good.) Feel free to enter either of those, if you wish.
@Avro, you are incredibly kind! Thank you, but YOU get the Win!!! Plus, the "Photobomb Dwarf Planet" was hilarious!!! Just what I needed!
