I think the contrast between China and the U.S. really stands out when comparing this to the problems with the scope in Hawaii.

If those were typical fundies in Hawaii., we'd be laughing at them.

Progress is a four-letter word to many. Dams, railroad-easements--you have to have them. This is no different.

Right now, you have a lot of NIMBYs making trouble for airports all over.

They people I bought the house from were already moving. What does my living arrangements have to do with this thread?

I would also add that I posted that to point how how ridiculous I think things can get in the United States. We need to either place a higher value on scientific discovery or eventually get left in the dust by countries like China.
