So this will officially make Supergirl's universe part of the multiverse established in The Flash. Which means it's all one overall continuity. I wonder if The Arrowverse Wiki -- which added Constantine to its roster as soon as that crossover happened -- will add Supergirl now as well. After all, if the events on Earth-2 "count," then the events on Earth-SG should count just as well.
Then the scene can end with Winn saying "You're good, but you're no Felicity Smoak"
The biggest name maybe, but that's not because she's a big name, its because the rest of the cast aren't (which isn't a bad thing). I have nothing against the actress, its her character that is stupid. Besides, the biggest name doesn't mean they should get anywhere near the amount of screen name as the star of the show. No one tuned into Supergirl to watch Calista Flockhart.
I want to see Supergirl do super things, or at least things relevant to her life, not watch a jackass CEO be a horrible human being or bring her completely unrelated to everything drama into a show about a superhero trying to stop alien criminals. At least on Arrow Felicity used to have a point before she became intolerable and took over the show. Cat Grant could be cut out, and the show would lose nothing of value. She brings nothing to the table, except drama unrelated to the plot. Lucy Lane exists for the same reason, but is written slightly better and gets much less screen time. Why should a viewer care about Cat's idiot son, or her relationship to him? Cat does nothing but whine, belittle Kara (and everyone else), and basically just exists so that there is a recurring antagonist for Kara that isn't someone that can be put in jail. I want to keep watch Supergirl, it has the potential to be a good show. I have no interest in watching the Cat Grant Show, co-starring Supergirl, which is what holds the show back in my opinion.
Benoist is a pretty big name.
Also, Barry is the only one on Team Flash who can sing.

I disagree completely.
It's not "unrelated to everything". Almost every episode the Cat/Kara dynamic parallels what's going on on the superhero front of Kara's life. I think Supergirl is doing a fine job of thematically tying all of it together, much more so than Arrow's flashbacks in recent episodes.

Jesse Martin, Tom Cavanaugh, Carlos Valdes, and Danielle Panabaker can also sing.
They're married? This audience member had no idea. And, for that matter, doesn't care.
Barry (the character) isn't really a singer either.
I rewatched that clip and edited my post to reflect neither character being good at singing.
Grant Gustin has posted the cover page for the Supergirl crossover script on Instagram. The episode title is "Worlds Finest" (homaging the DC crossover comic title, but note the lack of apostrophe) and is written by Andrew Kreisberg & Michael Grassi from a story by Greg Berlanti.
I wonder how, within the narrative of Supergirl, they can organically incorporate a story about a superhero from an alternate dimension showing up. It's a story that would fit more naturally into The Flash, where parallel-world hijinks are already a defining theme of the season, but they have to make it work in Supergirl instead, and somehow not make it feel like a digression from all the alien-related stuff.

Fair enough, but personally I find the Cat scenes far more fun and interesting to watch than anything to do with the DEO. And if there were anything I would cut or phase out from the show, it would be that.
They may have been set up to play a more important role, but the idea of Supergirl working with some secret military alien-hunting organization still just feels a bit weird to me. And I really wish the writers had found a better way to work characters like Hank and Alex into the show.
Well we've still got a few episodes to go, so maybe the Supergirl writers will try to work in some kind of parallel world story before then, or bring on some kind of alien who can open up portals to different realities or something.

That's interesting, since I believe yesterday's Arrow episode mentioned a company of that same name (at least the second part) as the makers of one of the components the villain had stolen.
Still, from what was said by the producers in the news yesterday, it sounds like Barry's own dimension-hopping ability is the impetus for his crossover, which is the in-story reason for why he's coming to Supergirl's world instead of the other way around. (The real-world reason being that Supergirl can afford to pay Gustin's going rate for an appearance more easily than The Flash can afford to pay for Benoist.)
