Yup, Lynsioux the main forum I'm on is really strict about that. Sorry I just assumed most forums were. Carry on!

Same here. Even having a sense of how this site works, I keep expecting a moderator to close the thread until the 22nd (or some radical new development) in order to stop extreme thread drift. :)

I've considered it. Nature abhors a vacuum and in the vacuum that is this time period before the 22nd, it's filling up with a bit of crap. We'll see if everyone can police themselves or if I need to lock the thread down for a few weeks.

I have a question:

If Alec Peters won in court and Axanar was made (I know how unlikely that is) would you still watch the film or boycott it?

I would watch it........boycotts are REALLY stupid in my opinion. I would watch with an open mind, if it is good I would give them credit.

I would also watch it because I gave them money in both of their campaigns, but it would be somewhat sour to watch it if I knew that their defence in court had negatively impacted other fan productions.

I don't think I'll watch it. I just don't want to support Peters in any way. Since it's an internet thing, where views are the main factor in deciding success, I don't want to give them even a single view.

No reason to boycott it really. I might check it out, just because of the controversy, but generally I was never-- and am still not-- terribly interested in the film at all.

No, I wouldn't watch it. Peters' behavior, along with some of his entourage, have totally soured me on the movie. I don't care if it ended up starring a whole crew of my favorite actors, I wouldn't watch it because all I would think about the whole time was his behavior in getting the film made. It would destroy any fun I might otherwise have.

If Axanar gets made with the Trek IP, I'll eat a really spicy Mexican dinner.

Ok, I'm gonna do that anyway. Probably many times between now and then (whenever "then" is). But if it gets made with no concessions or modifications, I'll eat sushi. And post pics.

I hate sushi. But I do love Mexican. ;)

Eh, the difference between Insurrection and Axanar is that at least Insurrection is an honest production, where Axanar is (or was) being made by an asshole who bullies everyone into getting his way, including the corporation that actually owns the IP.
