Yeah, really don't see Carolina losing this one. Any given sunday and all that, but they just seem like they're not going to be stopped. Guess that's the silver lining for me, I don't have to watch the Pats lose the Superbowl.
And pretty sure this is Manning's last game either way. Doubt they bring him back in Denver, and no way he goes somewhere else to start over again for one year. For better or worse, this is it. Unfortunately for him, he's not facing Rex Grossman and the Bears this time, so ring #2 looks a little dicey. One final Manning Face for the road...

Maybe a little here and there, but thought the refs were decent all in all. Mostly just stayed out of it, which is unusual for Ed. End of the day, the D-Line for the Broncos won this one, and as a result (or at least also) Brady looked like crap most of the day. Broncos offense really didn't do anything after that first TD drive; only other real points came out of Brady giving them a gift INT in the red zone.
Really can't see how that's going to work against the Panthers; I think they're just playing outstanding football, are healthy, and both sides of the ball look really strong. Denver's D might keep them in it for a bit, but just not seeing this one going Denver's way.
Thought yesterday should have gone to the Pats, but didn't feel great about playing the Panthers either way. I guess the annoyance of losing in the AFC Championship game is probably not as bad as the heartbreak of losing in the Super Bowl; those losses suck. especially if Carolina plays the way they have been, losing in a Super Bowl blowout would be devastating...
I have a feeling this Super Bowl is going to look a lot like Broncos/Seahawks but who knows. The Denver/NE game was bizarre in that I don't think I've ever seen Brady look that bad under pressure. It was like he was seeing ghosts out there at times and feeling the pressure before it really got there.
It was the first time all season he had been under relentless pressure.
As a (almost) lifelong Denver resident and fan, I can honestly say that the Broncos have no shot against the Panthers. We also have a long tradition of getting blown out in the Superbowl too, so there's that.
I'll still root for the Broncos, but may be switching over to the Food Network at some point.

About time. The greatest parlor trick Belichick and Co. pulled off this year was building an O-line off of almost dead vets, castoffs, and catering truck drivers.
The more I think about it...despite all of the struggles Brady had, he actually did well for someone who kept getting sacked, his throws blocked, being tripped or something like that. He was very close to tying the game. But in the end, Brady didn't find the guy he wanted open- There was a player (don't recall who) to his right who was open briefly but he was facing toward other side of the end zone.

Well its hard to find an open guy in the 1.345 milliseconds he had before being flattened by 700 pounds of angry Bronco. The few times he did have a few seconds, he found the open guy.
By the by Gronk is a beast, and he almost won the game on sheer willpower and whatever he uses to dull the pain of 15 broken bones.

I can't embed the tweet (hopefully that ability will be added at some point), but Sara Walsh from ESPN tweeted a stat from research that Brady hadn't been hit more than 12 times in any game during the regular season, but in yesterday's game he was hit 23 times.
I saw that this morning on ESPN. That's a significant stat, and yet another reason I am depressed that the Dolphins D-Line sucked hind end this year.
Congrats to the Broncos , who for once will be going into a SB with a championship level defense. It's just too bad that they are going in against an even better D than their own. Barring injury, there does not appear to be a weak spot at any position for the Carolina D, at least not the way they played yesterday. And they're going against an immobile quarterback in Peyton in the SB. Seems tailor made for them.
My only concern about Carolina is whether or not some of their key guys might be overwhelmed by the moment. But, their leader, Cam Newton, seems to be created for moments like these. If they keep their heads but still manage to play with characteristic wild abandon, I expect a solid win by Carolina, but not a blowout.

The Carolina D did play well yesterday, but they also got pasted by the Seahawks 24-0 in the second half last week. They still won, but it wasn't because of anything they did in the second half. That was a game where there were 3 or 4 times that a single play going differently could have changed the outcome.
Kinda a tough example, though, as once you're up 31-0, I can see where they would let their foot off of the throttle a bit, and it can be tough to get it going again.

Carolina seems like a very complete football team this year, and has most everyone healthy at the right time.
