Assorted Star Trek Fan Films are being removed from You Tube.

All the Star Trek Continues eppies are up. Even The White Iris. And that was the one that was taken down for copyright violation, apparently. Vic and his group had been talking to CBS about it.
That turned out to be a funny story. Some newbie in CBS Legal was having YouTube take White Iris down because he mistook it for an actual TOS episode! Meanwhile, his supervisors were having them put it back up. Right hand/left hand situation.

That's funny, yet scary...

Lol, it would be nice to have some people who are familiar with the property in decision making positions.

Or at least copies of the Star Trek Encyclopedia so s/he can check episode lists.

Too much work. A short time before the Megaupload bust another one-click-hoster sued a media company because they felt the studio was misusing their privileges. Apparently the media companies had special access and were able to directly delete files on the servers and this media company were constantly deleting instances of one specific free software. Sadly no more facts ever were known because the one-click-hoster self-imploded after the Megaupload thing.

It was speculated, that the piece of software carried the same name as one of the studios properties (The Firefox browser was suggested).

So no one at the media company was able to do a cursory examination of the files in question and could see, that a 30 MB exe-file is clearly not a pirated movie.
