Was there more detail that I am forgetting.
Not that I can recall. Dude thought the D'Qar ring was supposed to be debris from the destruction of the Hosnian system.

According to who?but apparently that gritty residue is none other than the cremated remains of Anakin Skywalker which were retrieved from the long-extinguished funeral pyre on Endor when Darth Vader's partially-melted helmet was recovered.
Anakin became a Force ghost, and if we follow the only other two examples of that we have, his body would have done a disappearing act.
What I'd like to know is why Anakin hasn't appeared in his spectral form to set that kid right.
ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY FORGET ABOUT LIAM NEESON!!!
I don't know if this has already been mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but I just learned two Easter Eggs about the film. The first had me smiling and the second, while cool and a physical connection to a major character from the six previous films, was a little creepy.
1. The First Order Stormtrooper that Rey mind-tricks into releasing her from captivity and leaving her interrogation chamber door open so she can escape? That's the Stormtrooper who was played by Daniel Craig.
2. The gritty, sand-like material that Kylo Ren drops his helmet into as he's interrogating Rey inside that same chamber? There was no explanation in the film itself as to what that stuff was and I haven't read the movie's novelization, but apparently that gritty residue is none other than the cremated remains of Anakin Skywalker which were retrieved from the long-extinguished funeral pyre on Endor when Darth Vader's partially-melted helmet was recovered.
So....Anakin does appear in all seven films thus far. Technically.![]()
A.K.A. A guy who doesn't become a Force ghost.Anakin became a Force ghost, and if we follow the only other two examples of that we have, his body would have done a disappearing act.

He speaks to Yoda. We don't see or hear him.Qui-Gon becomes a Force Ghost. He's the one who teaches Yoda and Obi-Wan to become Force Ghosts. This is in the end of ROTS and is canon.

I knew about Daniel Craig and I thought that might've been Anakin's ashes but I then I thought it was kind of odd to have them there in the open.

Which is why Anakin needs to show up and set him right. This is his grandson, after all. That's the thing though: Kylo Ren idolizes Darth Vader (mighty Sith Lord), not Anakin Skywalker (man who "gave in to sentiment" to save his son). What I'd like to know is why Anakin hasn't appeared in his spectral form to set that kid right.
