Kylo Ren RUINED! [SPOILERS] HELP ME PLEASE

The next movie will likely show the training of Rey and Ben/Kylo.
Both of them are mirrors of each other.
One is loved yet turned dark, the other actually abandoned yet unshakably good.
I expect as we find out more about Rey (whose family name I fully expect to be Skywalker... or possibly Kenobi?), we will also find out how Ben became Kylo.

All i saw was a whiny emo bitch who couldn't cut it when he met real resistance and crumpled into pieces.

Vader would have been embarassed to belong to the same family as him.
Which is kinda the point and a strong element of his character. He knows this and has been bluffing his way around the universe when the reality is he's a bit crap.

It probably doesn't help that with Palpatine and Vader dead the Sith are extinct and all thats left are their likely barely trained darkside minions. Not exactly the recipe for a dangerous group of force users outside of dealing with non-force users.

For fuck's sake Kylo Ren looks like the only member of the Knights of Ren who actually HAS a lightsaber.

Obi-Wan's force ghost must be pretty upset his namesake turned into such a whiny evil shit.

Well, if my alternate hunch that Rey is actually a Kenobi (seriously, how canon is Obi One's relationship with Satine still? ;) ) is correct, that should make up for it.
Though probably a Skywalker again after all. ;)

And HOW did he get like this? At least with Anakin we saw the path to whiny evil......

Oh god!

And remember how well that turned out last time we were shown that character arc?

No thanks!

Maybe you should just stick to "Two Broke Girls",

I wasn't too impressed by Kylo Ren, either. He's basically Anakin reloaded. At least he's played by a better actor so it was better to watch. I see some potential for an interesting character but it'll probably be more of the same.

Yeah he sucked. Rey never even held a saber and kicked his butt. Not to impressed.

You do realize that he was severely injured during that fight, right? Think about it, they made a point multiple times throughout the movie about how powerful Chewie's bow weapon was. Blowing stuff up, sending Stormtroopers flying back 30 feet etc. At a couple points in the movie Han may as well have looked at the camera, held up the bow blaster and said "This weapon is super duper powerful, remember that fact for later. Now back to our scheduled program." A lot of it was done for comic relief, but it was also there to inform you that if you get hit by this weapon, you're dead, end of story.

Kylo Ren got shot with that weapon and pretty much just buckled. He was probably using a good portion of his force powers just to be able to function. Remember they made a point of showing the blood on the ground, and he even had to beat his chest a few times to pump himself up and take his mind off of how much pain he was in. They also made a point of showing Rey being proficient with her staff weapon, I know it's not a sword, but I'm sure there are some translatable skills
there.

I agree; I found that to be much more interesting than just a supposedly badass character, something Star Wars has had plenty of in the past. His character felt like one that wasn't just an archetype, but a character with a conflicted, twisted soul. I could watch a whole film with just him in it.

Give it up mate - if half the posters are like the bored kids in my cinema this morning, getting up and down every five minutes to run in and out, you're just wasting your key strokes and pissing into the wind.

Even as a seven year old seeing the original SW, I was GLUED to my seat and you could NOT have pried me out of it. These little shits these days have the run of public places. You'd probably make good coin hiring yourself out as a creepy looking guy in a trench coat who hangs out near the toilets at a movie cinema. Make sure all the (usually) helicopter parents see you before they go in and there'd be NO way they'd let their little angels (demons) out during the film!

I quote Mama Fratelli once again,

"Kids SUCK."

^What is the point of this unpleasant rant?

People have different views of the characters. That doesn't make the ones you disagree with "kids", not that there is anything wrong with kids in the first place.

One of my favorite lines of the movie was when he was talking to Vader's mask, and he said something along the lines of he was conflicted because he was being tempted by the light side of the force.

My point was, the other poster offered an answer. However, some people may not understand it because they were not paying attention, just like the annoying young children running up and down the stairs at my showing this morning.

I then offered my own solution to stop parents LETTING their children run in and out movie cinemas. annoying other patrons.

Tired of EVERYTHING being catered to for damned kids these days!

Sucks that you had a bad experience. My showing was the complete opposite. No kids running around, no babies crying, and almost no one close to me even talking. (There was a kid 2 seats over that asked his dad a question during the "flashback" scene when Rey touched the lightsaber, he was a bit confused as to what was happening....understandable for a kid.) Heck no one even coughed, or as far as I could see even got up during the movie to go to the bathroom. Even the cheering/laughing at certain points was respectful enough that you didn't miss hearing any lines.
