I was reading TrekCore's trailer breakdown and noticed in one of the screen craps on the other ship we see the crew on appears to be a ship schematic on one of the screens behind Scotty. I cropped it and reuploaded it so we could see it. Not the best quality but it kind of reminds me of the NX-01 design (of course it looks magnified so not seeing the whole thing I'm sure.)

Does have a bit of an NX-01 feel. Good catch. :techman:

That nacelle, if it is, just seems to be floating near something that looks like the USS Raven. Just random collections of nonsense on the other screen.

I think we'll wait and see if it is a ship or just some cargo tug or something.

To me, that looks like the bridge section, not the whole ship. I don't see an NX class in that picture.

To the left, you can clearly see what looks like an NX-class warp nacelle dome.

Are you talking about the wiggly worm or the tank wearing floaties?

It looks like a nacelle, yes, but not necessarily from the NX. Since the latter was meant to be a precursor to a Connie, it also looks like that.

Besides, if the Franklin is some kind of 50th anniversary nod, who wants to see an NX ship? We already got that in STiD.

Yeah, if it's gonna look like anything, it'll harken to TOS designs.

It'll be like in The Doctor Who 50th when we see The War Doctor's TARDIS and 10 and 11 both go "The round things! I love the round things!"

I can see it... I'm betting it'll be a more primitive version of the Constitution class, probably close to the USS Kelvin in details.

Can't wait to build a model of it! :)

It does reminds of the NX design. The USS Franklin could be one of the Federation's earliest starships.

The room scotty is in reminds me of the NX more than any of those green Rorschach blobs on the screen behind him.

It look like a runabout that has wings that is attach to the top of it with nacelles hanging from bottom of the wing at the end. at the very front, might be a defector disk. At the bottom front side, could be bay doors. At the top front side, look like windows, Front of where the wing is attach, look like windows. At the top of the wings, look like the same bridge design that Defiant and Nova starships has.

Um... Yeah.. The casual viewer will have no clue what those things are. I think Scotty summed it up best in Relics: "NCC-1-7-0-1. No bloody A, B, C, or D."

This is a 50th anniversary movie. No one wants to see some obscure ship class from a spin-off series. That's, after all, why Orci was fired.

It remind me of the ships that tried to stop the Borg cube at Mars in Best of Both Worlds part 2. They have the same basic design of what I've explained above.

I just Thought of something, I think I've got the ship backwards. Instead of what I've said was the defector disk. It's the bay door, the defector dish is on the other end. Everything else is the same as above.
