It probably won't be a *totally* different character since as we saw with zombie-Will, the creature appears to acquire enough of the host's personality and memories to pass if it has to.
Kinda makes you wonder why exactly it was hanging out in Will's old cave when Fitz showed up. I mean sleeping in the bed of the person who'd body you just stole? Ward may have met his match in general creepertude.
Small aside: if it's retained the memories of *all* of it's hosts over the centuries, that means it's had an overview of a large slice of human history, albeit second-hand. I wonder if they'll address that.
