Spoilers Arrow - Season 4

Nice Walter reference. I like the character.

I'm betting it's Lance that dies - result of his deal with the devil.

Barry would've made sure he made it back for Thea or Felicity and Laurel is pretty safe.

Oliver wouldn't cry over Lance's death and Barry would have no reason to go to his funeral. It can't be Lance.

Felicity makes the most sense because she's the only character to be close with both Oliver and Barry, but I can't see the writers sabotaging their ratings by killing her off. Maybe Diggle?

I spotted the Hal Jordan cameo instantly and I loved it! I rewound to take a closer look and there was even a subtle green glow emanating just out of view of the shot.

Unlike some people I actually enjoyed seeing Felicity and Oliver enjoying a little domestic bliss. I thought it was really nice to see them both more light-hearted and less serious and actually wouldn't have minded seeing a little more of it. Stuff like their neighbour's reaction to Oliver's reflexes was a lot of fun and keeping them in that situation a bit longer could have made for some more fun moments like that. They could have easily stretched it out for a few more episodes if they hadn't had them rejoin the team so quickly and instead had them act more as "consultants" for a little while. I think it might even have been a little more believable too since Oliver seemed so reluctant to get back into that life.

As to the main villain of the season, I totally agree that they have done this kind of thing to death. The whole "destroy the city" thing is getting a little old. They really need to move one and find a more original arc for the season. Who knows, maybe they're faking us out and they're bringing Constantine in to clean up the mess and then they'll move on in a completely different direction. I doubt it though.

I liked seeing that Kord industries hasn't gone away. Is there still some hope that we might actually get to see the Ted Kord version of Blue Beetle? Fingers crossed!

Also, I am totally tired of Waller. I think maybe it has to do with the actress but I really don't care if I ever see her again. Actually, I do care because I really don't want to see her again.

Could be Diggle, or it could be Steele.

Did they say it was a woman?

If that was Felicities grave... It would be bigger.

Billionaires don't rest in peace with the common filth.

It's the actress, and I totally agree. If TPTB are smart, they'll send her off to parts unknown before Viola Davis happens.

Different arms of the company using different money who have to achieve different specific profit targets to avoid being fired.

...and Thea looks great in the Red Arrow/Speedy suit.
Absolutely. I don't know what it is, but she's really hot in that mask and hood. She looks a thousand times better as a superhero than Katie Cassidy does.
It's the eyes. Mask without dark facepaint around the eyes just looks wrong. I think I once even did some photoshopping and tested it.

Where was Hal Jordan? I missed him.

Not casting CCH Pounder as Waller is the worst mistake that this show has made.

Where was Hal Jordan? I missed him.

It was at the very beginning of the flashback of Oliver and Waller in the bar in Coast City. As they pan over to the pair you briefly see a guy from the neck down wearing flight jacket with the name Jordan on it.

I wondered what you were talking about until I rewatched the ep and saw the "name" on the leather jacket in the bar. Here's to hoping HE doesn't work for Waller!

There was a throwaway line last season about a Ferris Air test pilot disappearing. So I don't think Hal was there in the bar. The jacket was probably hung in the bar to commemorate the lost test pilot. Implicitly, Hal is out in space defending Space Sector 2814 from the scum of the universe. But I doubt we'll see him on the shows, due to the character being reserved for the movies.

I was actually thinking that she's gotten better now than she was initially, that she's somewhat grown into the role. She's still nowhere near Pounder's or Davis's league, but she's a lot less bland than she was to start with.

No, it's more that I've always found Katie Cassidy rather unattractive to start with, and the blond wig and domino mask don't help much. Willa Holland has always been much better-looking to me, but the bright red mask and the hood combine gorgeously with her features and make her even hotter than she is without them.

The bar was a five years ago flashback...before the test pilot would have been lost. Or was the mention of a lost test pilot also in a flashback?

Either way, I wouldn't take these nods too literally.

The mention of the missing pilot was in the present.
The jacket was seen in a flashback.
It was not just hanging in the bar. It's being worn by a person in that scene.
Take a look at the screenshots in the link I posted above.

I don't think CC Pounder would have taken the job as Waller even if it was offered, since she was already playing a similar role on "Warehouse 13" when this series started.

Lorraine Toussaint, who many of us met as Vee on season 2 of "Orange is the New Black" or as Lt Reece on last year's "Forever" would have made a truly frightening Waller.

To be fair, Mrs. Fredricks on warehouse 13, while mysterious and a bit of a control freak, was, at her core, a woman who cared about her subordinates (and people in general) and was pretty selfless. Amanda Waller is normally a cold hearted, very militant woman who happily sacrificed people and generally didn't care about things like collateral damage, outside of the possible backlash she'd face from it.

Fredricks would make hard decisions, and sometimes ones that seemed cruel, but she did really care about protecting people and the world. Waller always thought she was doing the right thing, but she's very much "ends justify the means", and she always thinks she's the one who knows what's right. The characters are almost polar opposites, really. I like Fredricks, and when Waller is done well she's a good character, but outside of some superficial similarities in style they're completely different characters.

CCH Pounder has played animated Amanda Waller in 9 episodes of Justice League and 3 movies made much later, that didn't seem all that associated with the Justice League/Unlimited continuity.

You should all know that.

But it sounds as if some of you don't.

But I must just be reading you wrong.

Weird.

I'm completely aware of that, and she was awesome. Easily the only good version of Amanda Waller in non-comic media.
