Did Missy say "Tell Davros the bitch is back?" I am 99% certain she said the B word and for a BBC show aimed at families I am kind of surprised.

Here's a puzzler: How different would this two-parter have been without Clara? I think this was written before Coleman said she wanted to come back?

I'm pretty sure it was the Supreme Dalek and not Davros. But yes, she used the b-word. A bit immature of Moffat, IMO.

Last year Kill The Moon brought us "bloody", "damn" and "hell". This year we have "bitch". How long before someone drops the f-bomb?

The two episode's title suggest the original story is centered around the companion, learning about traveling through space and time with two very different Timelords. naturally, The Doctor is the Magician while Missy plays the Witch.

The new companion would have spent time in the first episode learning about "the magician". All three then get bundled off to Skaro by Colony Sarff, with Missy and the new companion "dying" at the end of the episode. The second episode would be similar to what we saw, with the new companion learning from the witch as they work their way back into the Dalek city. The episode ends with the new companion finally deciding to who she'll prefer to travel through space and time, The Doctor or Missy.

Missy's explanation of the Vortex Manipulator is curious. Now, Missy isn't aware Clara has used them in the past, and the audience might have been thought to need a heads up on how Missy got them there, but it would be fitting for a new companion, too.

I'm pretty sure ot was the Supreme Dalek and not Davros. But yes, she used the b-word. A bit immature of Moffat, IMO.

I thought “She said ‘witch’, right?” So I rewound it, and, nope, it wasn't ‘witch’. Quite immature, although to be fair witch isn't a nicer word either. But if the Doctor is the magician, the Master is certainly the witch, so the title works for me.

It won't be long.... It will happen.

I could have sworn the last episode of last series the Doctor did make the lip movements of the F word as he smashed his hand into the TARDIS console when he found Galifrey wasn't where he was told it was.

Surprised he hasn't asked Missy about that tidbit of lies...

Loved it. And that's good enough for me. I know a lot of people are ripping Who apart these days to find anything that they can call faulty. Me, I just wanna have a good time! And I did.

Does that make me a simpleton for simply enjoying? Maybe.... But I had fun!!!

It was ok, it didn't build on the momentum of last week, sort of just stopped and got talky.

Thought these first two episodes were just fantastic. There really does seem to be an emphasis on slower and more character-driven storytelling so far, where people actually have time to explore a place and have interesting conversations instead of just running around frantically all the time.

And of course Capaldi was just amazing to watch all the way through. Although I'm really hoping they don't try to make him too fun and lovable this year. I really liked that more severe and aloof persona he had last season (along with the short hair) and will be bummed if he now just starts acting like all the other wacky New Who Doctors.

I have to admit, I really enjoyed this episode. Loved the Doctor and Davros interaction and I'm glad the Doctor was playing a long-con on Davros and let him embarrassed once again. Julian Bleach was terrific as Davros here, even if the character was faking. Still think they are missing a golden opportunity to have Young Davros become the Doctor's new companion.

The Dalek sewers were a fun idea and I liked the look of the Dalek city as a whole. Missy treating Clara as a canary was funny, particularly pushing her in the hole. Clara adapting to the Dalek suit was interesting.

Noticed that Missy mentioned a daughter. If she is as old as the Doctor, it's certainly possible she/he had a wife and kids on Gallifrey back in the day.

I really do NOT want Moffat answering the question as to why the Doctor left Gallifrey. I'm sure it will turn out to be an arrogant, incoherent and disappointing retcon.

Sonic Sunglasses? NO! Awful idea. When Capaldi puts them on, I feel like he wants to scream out "LOOK! I'M COOL TOO!" Capaldi was a lot better in this one but he still tends to try too hard. Michelle Gomez REALLY tries too hard as Missy and it can come across as a mess.

But won't you be thrilled to be able to finish off your checklist?

Last week, Missy and Clara were killed by the Daleks, I think they can handle the "b-word".

Sooo hoping the Sonic Glasses meet the same fate of Matt's fez. I'd rather no screwdriver or going back to the 1st Doctor's ring, than those glasses

Why did the sewer Daleks attack the other Dalek, but ignore Missy and Clara?

(Don't tell me: you'll explain it later.)

Are we absolutely certain that Missy is the Master?

Maybe Donna regenerated?

A Template of the Master was forced onto every human being in the world except Donna (and Wilf?), just because Donna had the precautions installed to ignore the "upgrade" it doesn't mean that she didn't keep a copy of his "brain" on file for later use, or that she was forced to stick the Master's Psyche into her trash folder like everyone else had.

If she isn't the Master, they sure are dragging it out.

I think the Sonic Sunglasses are a fun enough idea for a few episodes, but I wouldn't want them to stick around for the entire season. Visually they just aren't nearly as cool to watch the Doctor use as the Screwdriver.

Maybe he'll just lose them the way we all lose our favorite sunglasses it seems.

I think Capaldi's style would work really well with a more 60/70s looking Sonic, a revised take on Baker's for example
