I couldn't really say it is a good movie. But there's clearly so much heart and commitment behind it, and enough good ideas in the mix even if they don't quite come off as intended, that it's a good *bad* movie and fun to watch in the right frame of mind.
Which does not live up to what they promised/pitched/hyped however you want to put it. I've repeatedly expressed my admiration for any producer or production group who can see a project through to release, but when you make promises and build an expectation that it will be at a certain level, I think you're just setting yourself up for a critical barrage if you don't live up to it.
