NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? What?

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Romo most likely out for the season. I'll be drinking everything in the house if you need me. I hate everything.

I saw on Twitter that Romo was out and had totally forgotten who the Cowboys' backup was.

I'm so, so sorry. With the way Cowboys fans bag on Tony "I'm really fucking good" Romo and Weeden having his performance today, you're going to get a week of "Cut that choker Romo, start Weeden forever" worse than the weeks of chucklefucks who were crying for Josh McCown over Cutler a few years ago.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Thanks man. I'm really stoked to see Weeden lead a team with Terrance Williams as a no. 1 receiver. Something tells me Romo's detractors won't have to wait long before praying for Khan blood shoulder surgery for Tony.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Good Lord the Rams looked terrible today.

How do you beat the Seahawks and then get your asses kicked by Washington?????

:scream:
Trust me, brother, I'm just as genuinely shocked as you are! It truly is amazing what we can accomplish without RGIII...

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Yeah, apparently Matt Jones is the best running back in the NFL....

:scream:

No kidding.

I'm not sure which is a bigger surprise, the Redskins win or the Ravens loss.

He was doing some amazing things in the pre-season, but I simply just attributed that to being 2nd and 3rd stringers being put up against other 2nd and 3rd stringers. Little did I know he would make Alfred Morris look like a rank amateur.

In any case, the Skins have been sucking hind-tit for almost 2 decades now (RGIII's fluke rookie year notwithstanding). I figure it's about time to start operating like a real team finally. And there are only really two things stopping them from taking it to the next level at this point: injuries and penalties. If they can get those two things under control - especially the penalties - they might actually be able to earn themselves a seat at the big boy's table again.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

And Pats take care of business again. Bills looked exactly like a Rex Ryan-coached team. Talented, high emotion, and stupid. So many dumb penalties, like how do you get flagged for taunting, on Defense, after the offense scores on you? Bills found a way.

They looked great on opening drive, and then Pats just took over. Bills fought back into it a little at the end, but Pats just had a pretty typical game. Keep things even-keeled and work it out. Taylor looked pretty terrible this week after doing a good job in week 1.

Ryan though... come on. Gets guys to play with emotion, but lets it out of control, just dumb. Seemed like a flag every other play, so if the Pats weren't converting, Bills gave it to them anyway. Tough to win that way...

Your offensive line played very well. Could be The Hogs are back??

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Perhaps. Cousins had a lot of time to work with and very few got through to give him pressure. I missed the first quarter of the game, so I can't say for absolute certainty if he was never sacked, but in the time I saw him, he remained largely untouched, at least, until after he threw the ball, which is as it should be.

Now, I'm not going to take this and foolishly scream "WE'RE BACK BITCHES!" to the highest mountain-top. There's still a lot of work needs to be done, but the baby steps I'm seeing now are extremely promising. Quiet, hopeful and circumspect anticipation is all a Skins fan is authorized to feel right now. Reckless arrogance >>cough<< >>Brady<< >>cough<< is not. ;)

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Reckless arrogance? oh please

You not liking something doesn't always mean the fault lies with them ;)

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

I can wait. Redskins fans are nothing if not patient. Sooner or later, "that which I don't like" will screw up again, and again, and again, and maybe something will finally stick. I don't expect anything of substance to happen anywhere in the entire league until Goodell either retires is removed anyway.

I had such high hopes for this season.

Then I remembered... I'm a Dolphins fan.

:(

At least your team didn't have fucking Pickles under center yesterday.

I would take a few years of horrible suckiness so that we could build a good young team from our draft picks rather than extremely expensive mediocrity season after season.

Just to pick at this: you wouldn't consider two 1st round picks, a 4th round pick, 1.75M from the team, and 500k from the coach penalties that "stuck"? Especially when you consider that the 'offenses' they were busted for were the equivalent of jaywalking? Filming is STILL allowed, just not from that spot on the field, and no one cared at ALL about the balls until AFC Championship game. It's happened plenty of times, and never been more than a 25k fine if anyone cared to even mention it. Rodgers came out on TV and said he likes to get them over pumped, and we even had a NFL ref STEALING game balls during the game, and no one cares about any of that. Seems like those penalties "stuck" just fine given the 'crimes', not sure what you think the penalty would have to have been to finally "get" the Patriots...

And for fun: as a Redskins fan, where's the beef with the Patriots? They rarely ever play you, so no 'cheating' or bad beats. Not in the same division/conference, or even rivals. Not physically close by. No trades where they took advantage of a stupid owner, no coaches or name players that jumped from one team to the other. Basically can't think of any bad blood or connection at ALL there, so I don't get the hair across your ass on this one. Steelers or Eagles want to whine, ok. Colts leadership seems to do it professionally, but at least got to hang their "Participant" banner again this year. Ravens just seem to like poking at other people, even while their players are literally murdering people and getting away with it. But the Redskins? I just don't see any connection there.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

I think I might just be a Patriots fan if it weren't for Patriots fans.

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

I know, right? Us and our arrogant music choices during a championship banner raising!

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

What is this thing you call a "Championship Banner?"

I don't recall ever seeing one....

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Hey, you've got a couple, and they were back to back even. I was just negative 8 at the time, so depending on your age, could be a tricky one. Just such a QB league, and after not cashing in with Marino, you've had a rotating door at the position. Pretty much a who's who of 3rd string QBs.

Pretty disappointed by the Dolphins defense so far. Really thought they'd be a force, and even started them in fantasy, and then they get beat by the Jags... Sure they'll get up for the Patriots game, though, they always seem to play Brady tough. Especially in Miami, just seems to be a sore spot for him, it's worth an extra turnover or two just going in...

Re: NFL 2015-2016 Season - Maybe extra points actually ... matter? Wha

Well the random rumor department has settled on a scapegoat...
The Dolphins $114 million man

A big reason why: Suh, who for the second straight week was a nonfactor, strayed from Kevin Coyle’s script.

The Miami Herald has learned that Suh freelanced at times Sunday, creating confusion on the defense. By taking matters into his own hands, the Dolphins’ $114 million man took a bad situation and made it worse.

“I couldn’t tell you,” Suh said, when asked to explain his uninspired play. “At the end of the day, we have to go back to the drawing board and figure out what we want to run so guys can make plays and go from there.”
