I agree. He's up there with guys like Thomas and Englehart, but he never gets the love.

The Wasp and Black Knight were so good together. :)

Who's idea was it to promote a Woman of Colour to team leader in the mid 1980s?

    Stern or higher up?

Sadly, Janet shot Dane down because he reminded her of Hank. Bummer, because they would have been a cute couple.

It was Stern's idea to have Monica Rambeau lead the Avengers.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I'm probably remembering what I want to remember. :)

It seems like a dogs age since the last Secret Wars core book.

Did I mention that Hail Hydra is excellent?

Ian Rogers, Armin Zola's kid, raised by Captain America, who took up the identity Nomad, got zapped or something just before Secret Wars started on regular 616 Earth, which insulated him from the collapse of the multiverse. From his perspective he fell through a portal and wound up in an alternate reliaty where Hydra won world war II, but what really happened was that he was stuck safe in a coocoon for 8 years while Doom rebuilt reality around him, and he finally shuck loose.

So it's a 616 character WTFing about how Effed up into the toilet this Earth is.

    Which is Good. :)

She shot him down for good in one of the Solo Avengers stories, Love Stings. Poor Dane was humiliated! But he caught the eye of Rita Demara, the female Yellowjacket. She thought he was a hunk! Alas, nothing came out of it. I don't think poor Dane has ever gotten laid. :p

They only got to kiss, IIRC. He had that forced bond with Sersi at the same time. So unless they had a threesome...

I started reading comics right in the middle of that run and it's what made me love the Avengers. John Bucema's art certainly didn't hurt either.

Google found me an article about unrequited Avenger love.

    http://goodcomics.comicbookresource...miss-relationships-between-avenger-teammates/

The oddest relationship to me was Moonstone and Hawkeye.

I suppose Clint's saving grace is that he is too pigheaded to be manipulated by a mindgamer like Karla.

Although they're pushing Hawkeye and Hawkeye together, despite that he's 30 something and it's debatable if she's turned 20, which is a little skeevy.

I read that article, too. Poor Black Knight was mentioned twice (Crystal and Wasp)!

Crystal started with Johnny, and skip a few, he's moved on to
Medusa. :) I really liked it when she met Spider-Man and he couldn't stating admittng that she was the most beautiful women in the universe, not that that meant that he wanted her, just that it was jarring to look at her.

But I really liked Crystal and Ronan the Accuser. He was all thumbs around her and uncertain if the (In)human was actually going to go along with their arranged marriage in anything but spirit.

I like Mark Waid, and I like Black Widow, so this should be good. Daredevil was actually one of the few Mark Waid comics I just didn't like (both the writing and the art are pretty mediocre) but Waid is generally great, so I don't hold that against him, although I wish he wasn't bringing the same artist with him to BW. I don't think it will effect the story quality though, I just don't like Daredevil's art. Still, I think this will end up being a great book. I'm definitely excited for this.

I'm excited. Glad Marvel finally confirmed this. I really enjoyed Nathan Edmonson's run with Tasha but really looking forward to this.

At long last, we started getting post-Secret Wars real world comic books. As much as I love Hickman's Avengers run, this prolonged what-if-only run has been tedious. It's clear to me now that all these endless tie-ins have absolutely nothing to do with Hickman's actual story in the main series.

Has the Secret Wars main series suffered some horrible delays or something? We're only on issue 6 of 9, yet all of the tie-ins are ending now, and we're starting to get post-Secret Wars series starting this week.

I read Doctor Strange #1 solely for the gorgeous Balacho art. It contained zero reference to Secret Wars or the fact that he's dead.

Yes, it has suffered horrible delays. Part of that stems from a decision (by Hickman or someone higher) to swap issues #4 and #5, even though issue #4 was done and #5 was not. And then they decided to make it nine issues instead of eight, spreading out the last two issues across three, so Ribic could work at a normal pace.

Looking at Avengers # 0 tonight...and wondering if Marvel Editorial's decided to try to sever the link between Canada and the Alpha Flight brand.

That's how they were marketed, though.
Just a bunch of fun "what if" books based on popular runs from the past.
I actually like that a lot had nothing to do with it. Anything could happen, characters could die, there were no rules.

I want more "Where Monsters Dwell".
