Sounds good. It will be strange to refer to Skye as Daisy, but that works. Seems like she is being promoted to the #2 spot.

Glad to see that May is maybe getting back with Andrew. I like him, and would love to see him get a recurring role on the show.

    Poor Fitz. :(

All sounds good but I'm disappointed there's no mention of Deathlok.

That description does sound pretty cool. I am a little surprised that Skye will be going by Daisy now. It is her name, but I would have expected her to keep using Skye since that was the name she'd been going by. Did they ever say if she started using the Skye name as an adult or if it was what she'd gone by her whole life?

In the orphanage, her name was Mary Sue. Skye was a name she created herself - it's unclear whether she called herself that while at the orphanage or only after becoming an adult but it certainly wouldn't have become her only name until adulthood.

IIRC the name the state gave her while in foster care was "Mary Sue Poots" and the scene implied she's gone by Skye since at least early adolescence.

Switching the name out now does seem a little odd, but at the same time it makes sense when you look at how they left things between her and her father. Symbolically it seems like she's reclaiming at least part of her heritage and honouring her father by taking the name he gave her.

Plus there's the whole comic book/branding thing by officially making her the MCU version of Quake, so I'm sure that's a factor too. But at least it does actually make sense narratively.

I had thought Skye was her Hacker handle. I even thought it was mentioned in an early, early episode of S1 that was the case. A fleeting comment but I thought I recalled that. She just adopted it going forward.

Agreed. Not only am I not getting any details on Deathlok for AoS but Marvel hasn't revealed if his title will be picking back up post Secret Wars. I really enjoyed Edmondson's 10 issue run and think it's sad editorial lets these events stop good creativity on titles.

Did they leave off with Deatlok still with S.H.I.E.L.D? At this point I'm expecting him to continue to be a recurring character who just pops up when things get really bad.

As I remember while Hydra had taken many of his components he was still desperate to be a hero. And that was before SHIELD started to rehabilitate its public image as an Avenger's support agency when the helicarrier help with the rescue of Sergovia. There was never the" I don't know if I can keep doing this "scene like we had with Bobbi.

The last we saw of Deathlok, he was being transfered to a facility that could rebuild his leg.

Just like Trek, Marvel rules are going to be if Marvel Studios don't air it then it ain't canon.

Comics have been following the lead of mass-media adaptations since at least 1940, when the Superman comics changed Clark and Lois's editor from George Taylor to Perry White from the radio show.

Don't forget Alfred's massive weight loss from the Batman serials.

Anyway, while I can take or leave the relationship, I appreciate Lance Hunter looking like Nick Blood because all other versions I've seen look really lame.

I know, I'm just not a fan of it happening. It seems for every Harley Quinn or Phil Coulson, you get black leather costumes for X-Men and biological web-shooters in exchange.

That may be the earliest case of a live-action screen work having a lasting influence on the comics (since the only earlier live-action comic-book adaptations were the serials The Adventures of Captain Marvel and Spy Smasher). Indeed, I read recently that the character of Alfred was created specifically with the serial in mind, though the comics creators went ahead with their own different idea and only later found out what the serial had done instead. I'm not sure how much credence to give that, though.

Looks like they've de-aged him considerably to make him more like the TV character. The original version had gray hair and a combover.

Neither of those two things are inherently bad, though, and they were well executed in their respective movies. The X-Men was the first movie that really tried to to a series "real world" take on super-heroes and pulled it off really well. Raimi's dedication and love of the comics more than made up for a relatively small change that was made. The first two Spider-Men movies were like watching comic book panels come to life.

When changes don't work it is principally because of the poor execution of the film. Superman Returns, for example, did not fail because he had a son but for many other reasons.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I just don't see why those things needed to bleed into the comics.
