Renegades have, apparently, announced that they will be producing 12 episodes a year.
I say apparently because my email is down so I haven't received the announcement, so I am presently just repeating what others have posted online.
I'm quite curious to hear if they're going to crowdfund those episodes, or if they have something else in mind. Either way, I really, really hope they re-think those Starfleet uniforms. And hire a hard ass script editor.![]()

Gonna shake fandom down for every penny they can.
I'm more interested in what CBS told them regarding that it can't make new Trek at all at the present time...I started a thread in Future to talk about that aspect.

I wasn't advocating keeping the First Contact uniforms (though I don't really see an issue with doing so either). My point is that the uniforms they used just don't work. It's just not a good design; cheap-looking fabrics and poorly-fitted. Those costumes really drag down the polished look of much of the rest of it. I've no issue with giving things a fresh look, but at least design and create something that looks good and practical. The Renegades Starfleet uniforms are neither.Renegades have, apparently, announced that they will be producing 12 episodes a year.

Starfleet weren't going to keep the FC uniforms forever - They should introduce the Online uniforms or the famed 'monster grey' uniforms which reformat the First Contacts into the TWOK style jackets http://fleet31.com/uniforms/monstergrays/
But I'm glad this will be a change from the TOS era films now Hidden Frontier is over, another series with Intrepid taking the 24th Century forward.
Renegades continues!
We are very pleased to announce that Star Trek: Renegades will be producing further episodes!
As promised to our backers, we engaged the top entertainment attorney in LA who has exceptional connections to CBS and Paramount. For reasons we are not able to disclose, CBS cannot move forward with Star Trek Renegades at this time - or any Star Trek series for that matter.
We have nothing but praise for CBS. Their approach in allowing these independent productions supported by fans is enlightened and progressive. They deserve kudos for understanding that it is us -- the fans -- that keep Star Trek alive.
So, we are excited and pleased to announce that we will be moving forward with Renegades as an independently produced fan-supported Internet TV Series!
Our current film will be denoted as Episode 1 (the pilot) and we are actively writing Episodes 2 and 3. Walter Koenig has agreed to reprise Admiral Chekov in this two-part episode, with Episode 2 ending with a cliffhanger, and Walter has decided that Episode 3 will be his final performance as Chekov. We are so honored to work with Walter, who will be an active participant in the writing and production.
In addition to most of our returning cast, we also plan to bring in many fellow Trek stars and their familiar characters to join us.
As we complete the final fulfillment of all our rewards, we will be announcing a new crowdfunding drive for the next two episodes. Beyond that, however, we have an innovative new plan for funding subsequent episodes. Our goal is to produce 12 episodes a year, or roughly one per month! To accomplish this, we’ll use conventional episodic television production schedules, including shooting each episode in 7-8 days, editing and scoring the episode over the next month, then completing the VFX over the following 2-3 months. And this is now possible since we have the core Renegades team in place, and most of the difficult and time-consuming VFX work was accomplished for the pilot.
We hope you enjoyed Renegades and will continue to support our Series. We have multiple story arcs in the works which will extend over multiple episodes and even seasons!

CBS will eventually do a new series just not in the near future.
CBS may announce something by the 50th anniversary, or possibly a little beyond that. A decision on what the series will ultimately be is not set yet, but there will be a series.
Sadly, I can't talk about it. So that said, you don't have to believe me since I can't provide the source at this time. You will simply have to wait till next year (possibly sooner) to see if I'm correct. A series will happen in 2017.
I personally don't believe they have any chance of getting CBS to pick up the pilot or any episodes they might make. However, I do believe there's a reason that CBS is being so tolerant of fan film fundraising, and it may very well be related to some issue arising from the CBS/Paramount split. For all we know, there may be something in that split preventing CBS from putting something on TV until after the current film run ends.
I'm not saying there necessarily is; I am saying that we don't have a way to tell that there isn't.
