Supergirl TV Series is being work on.

I was flipping through channels and noticed her on "Step up" She had a striking look about her.

Later found out Tatum married her.

I liked her a lot on Witches of East End. I look forward to seeing her on Supergirl. I wonder if there's a chance we'll get Lois too? I was wondering if they were going to avoid her since we're getting her in the movies, but we are seeing Superman, so obviously they have no problem using characters who are also in the movies.

^Well, we're seeing glimpses of Superman. I gather he'll be the kind of character who's mentioned but not really seen, like Norm's wife on Cheers.

The producers said they're actually following the example of Veep, where the President is talked about but apparently never seen.

And I think it's cool the way they seem to be building the show mostly around the supporting characters of the Superman comics, and ones we haven't really seen much of before (Jimmy, Lucy, Cat, and even Supergirl herself). I know some are saying it's because they're not allowed to use the bigger names, but the sense I get is that it's simply a creative decision on their part.

Veep evolved.

1. Julia became President herself Last season.

2. House is President next season. Maybe they'll return to formula, but that would mean releasing Hugh Laurie from contract, which is ####ing insane.

I think so, yes. We've had Superman series before; now it's time for something else.

Jimmy and Lucy were supporting characters in the '84 Supergirl movie as well. Superman was actually going to appear in that movie initially, but the arrangements with Christopher Reeve fell through (a scheduling conflict, I think). For some reason, the producers decided they wanted the Superman and Supergirl series (if any) to stand apart from each other, so Supergirl ended with Kara swearing Jimmy and Lucy to secrecy about her existence. In other words, she chose not to let Kal-El know that he wasn't the last of his species and that his uncle, aunt, and cousin were still alive. Which is a really awful thing to do to the poor guy. (And besides, a lot of people saw Supergirl in action, so I'm not sure how keeping her existence secret was supposed to work.)

Which is part of why I'm looking forward to the show so much. We've gotten four live action TV series focused on Kal-El (The Adventures of Superman, Superboy, Lois & Clark, and Smallville), so it'll nice to see the one of the other El family superheroes get some time in the spotlight.

In some cultures, marrying your first cousin is permitted and celebrated.

Keeping her distance from Kal-El was very prudent since the continuation of their species was on the line.

The second Zod showed up, no matter how evil he was, Kara should have dunked the cosmic doughnut with him just to make sure that her cousin wasn't going to make thumb toed babies with her.

Although given the choice, would you rather lay seige to the Earth, oblitorate all opposition and dominate the survivors, or have a series of dirty weekends with Kara Zor-El, and then in the after glow eat cold pizza and watch old movies in bed all day together?

Although, in this Supergirl series, the Kryptoinian species is not as endangered as it usually is in your basic Superman movie/tv series origin.

So in terms, that are personal to you: Sex with your first cousin, or sex with Putin.

I think I remember reading about a story where Superman used a computer to find him the perfect woman and it gave back Kara as a result in one of Comic Book Resources' articles about strange comics book stories. There was also one about a story where Kara hooked up with her horse after he got turned into a human temporarily. I doubt we'll be seeing an adaptations of those stories on the show.

Oh, that happened repeatedly. He was actually a centaur cursed into the form of a horse, but able to change into a human under certain circumstances. Supergirl had a thing for his human form without realizing he was her horse.

But is this series designed to operate within the continuity of the 'Man of Steel' Superman, or will he be something of a more... generic Superman character?
