Supergirl TV Series is being work on.

I'm sure that's only to focus on the \S/. :shifty:

Sure, but when an image of a woman is presented that way, there's an element of objectification that isn't there with a man. I'm reminded of a rather infamous panel from DC's Cry for Justice in 2009, which was widely criticized for gratuitously focusing on Supergirl's breasts and cutting off her head, while the male heroes standing behind her were all shown full-length. It's a rather unfortunate image to remind people of.

I was being sarcastic, you know. I actually agree with you.

She is way more blonde in that poster than she is in the pilot.

I wonder if that's just the light being tricky, of if Kara is going to begin employing a disguise?

Eh, seems pretty innocuous to me, given that there's nothing revealing about the costume at all. And the focus clearly seems to be on the costume itself over just her chest or whatever.

That said, I do really like this new version a lot better:

This poster is rocking!

Short little video on the first day of filming. And apparently the episode is going to start with a pretty spectacular and action-packed sequence, which should be fun to see.

Good grief, what is with that promotional banner image they're using that cuts off her head and focuses on her chest? That's an unfortunately male-gazey way to promote a show like this. Her eyes are up there, guys!
There is not reason why they couldn't zoom out just enough to at least show her face. I can understand wanting to focus on the S shield, but there are better ways to do it.

1. They're giving the fanboys hope that she's wearing the classic headband.

2. The alternate (comics) costume design is a smaller El Sigil on just her left breast, which is exclusivist and breastist against righty. Poor righty.

Maybe?

In Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Bruce explains that he has that blotch of almost neon yellow under the bat sigil on his suit because it's a "fascinator". The Highlit Bat draws the eye of any gunmen trying subconsciously to decide where to shoot him him first.

Coincidentally, under the Bat emblem is where most of the armour and padding in his costume lives, and is exactly where he wants people with guns to shoot him, becuase if they thought about it rationally, a bullet to the face would definitely kill the playboy billionaire.

Superman and Supergirl is a different problem.

Off a flat plane, the angle of incidence equals angle of reflection, so Superman can kind of figure out where most of the bullets striking his pecs are going to ricochette towards, if he's inhumanly smarter than us, which they tell us he is, and avoid any foreseeable collateral damage.

Boobs are not a flat plane.

(Soooooooooooooooooooo much more math.)

Which just goes to proove one more time how much harder it is to be a Supergirl than it is to be a Superman.

Yes, that book is a little shit, but Peter's had Miguel bring the Maestro back to the present to rock out with his cock out... But I have no idea how that's been derailed by Secret Wars.
