It's not being taken off shelves.
There's no grass roots movement calling for it to be banned.
It was one father in Philadelphia who got asked a question from his daughters that he should have been able to handle like a fucking adult, but instead decided to get outraged and called the local Fox affiliate, which instead of saying "This is a nothing story," decided to play both sides of the issue for sensationalism by pretending there was a fake moral panic, and then drumming up all the "PC has gone too far!" idiots who think this is some kind of national crisis when it's one guy and a couple people who were asked questions by the news station.
In between all the sky is falling bullshit, as much as I love me some gold bikini Leia, and no matter how take charge and badass Leia was there, there is probably a legitimate discussion to be had about a toy being targeted at young girls and boys which is essentially a sex slave and the message it sends. Not saying to ban it, just saying it's not a ridiculous concept to discuss.
From a moderation standpoint, you do not need to share every story about PC culture run amok that winds up in your email inbox or Breitbart headline app. Stop being so easily manipulated into thinking these are major stories you just have to share this minute lest the country come flying apart from an explosion of pent-up PCness.
