I haven't seen 3rd season to know for sure.

We just started episode 1 of season 3 last night.

It does have lesbians in it. yes, there is lesbian sex probably for sensationalism, I wager.

I'd say yes and no. Some of it, yes, and especially the number of participants that have nice bodies. But I know about stuff that was going on when my mom was in prison, so it isn't totally unrealistic, and as for the nice bodies - well, these *are* actresses, after all.

Hell, I've not seen the show at all, I know nothing about fashion, but my interpretation of "orange is the new black" is the jumpsuit's replacing that old standard of the "little black dress" in most women's closets. Don't know if that's right or not.

I don't even believe gays co-opted the word lifestyle to begin with. In fact, the most prominent use of it in reference to the "gay lifestyle" was during the early years of the HIV/AIDS crisis where it was mistakenly thought to be a "gay disease" that affected only those who practiced a so-called gay lifestyle. Besides, it's not a lifestyle as in you choose to live the hipster or a goth lifestyle, it's the way they are born.

It's a fashion reference. Have you ever heard "Red is the new black" in terms of a shift in fashion design trends? Here, it represents the rather upscale and fashion conscious lead making the most of an orange prison jumpsuit by saying it's the new fashion that's in-style this year.
