Big Brother 17

Jace was a clown, but I would've rather seen those responsible for his eviction (Audrey, Da'Vonne, Jason, James) gone first.

Really? I disliked Jason after his promo but in the house I'm starting to like him. He's not as exhibitionist as he seemed and at least in terms of the TV broadcast he's game-smart. And even though she made the mistake of getting into that fight I'm still getting Danielle vibes from Davonne. And James is also one of my favorites so far. Audrey is showing some pretty bad gameplay randomly trying to pull people into the alliance.

Jace, with his 'Bro code' crap. I'm not sure where he got that, maybe he stole it from How I Met Your Mother? But he's actually celebrating being a chauvanist stereotype, and the worst part is, he actually seems like he might be a decent guy IRL.

I think I agree with Kathy Griffin's assessment of the female players.

I have to say, I think this season is well cast. There isn't an obvious dominant player like last season. I have no idea how this season is going to win. Even the villains aren't that annoying, and the one that was annoying went home first.

Well, what part I was awake for convinced me that I really do not like Da'Vonne.

I'm going to have to watch this thing online instead of on my TV. I fell asleep again (sometimes a chair can be too comfy!).

I'm behind on the DVR, watching up on it.

I see Jace is one to go. Good, he was starting to really grate he was just an asshat, goofball, clown.

Actually, I think I hate most of the guys in this house.

Only a total idiot would deliberately stay on the block if he had a way off, so at least he knows now what they think of him, as far as intelligence goes.

I like this Austin/Vanessa alliance. Though they may have exposed themselves just a little protecting Liz like that when they really didn't have to.

I like how the former pro wrestler so far appears to be the smartest player.

I'm starting to worry this will be one of those seasons where all the interesting players obliterate each other and leave us with the vanilla 'Just hanging out' people.

I think it speaks more to their lack of intelligence. The only player ever to not use the power of veto on himself was Marcellus in season three. He ended up getting evicted as a result, and for years it was called the stupidest decision made in Big Brother history.

I think we're both saying the same thing in slightly different ways. ;)

Anyway, of course he used the veto as any intelligent player would, and thank goodness that loudmouthed Da'Vonne is out of there.

She absolutely should have kept figuring out the twin twist to herself, and used it as leverage.

I agree. Sharing it with everyone was definitely an oversight on her part.

Yeah, I really don't understand why she didn't go straight to Liz/Julia and use it to her advantage, just like Vanessa did a couple of days later. Telling everyone else accomplished nothing. Now, if she had figured it out before Meg had been nominated, then telling everyone might have been a good way to get Liz on the block and evicted instead, but since it was already after the POV ceremony there was really no benefit to spreading it around. The rest of the house doesn't even seem that concerned about it and most people are still gunning for Audrey.

I am starting to really like John. He is a funny guy, goofy but smart. And he made a very good point about doing others' dirty work...it may come back to bite them later on. Jason is funny as well.

My least favorites right now are James and Jeff, mostly because of the immature way they treat and talk about women. There have been more than a few moments that made me feel uncomfortable while watching them on feeds. Vanessa and Austin are also right to want Jeff gone, he talks with everyone in the house and people seemingly forget that he has a natural partner in Jackie.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this.

It's odd that CBS would use a set of twins who are so evidently not physically identical, if people were noticing that one is obviously heavier than the other.

John's starting to grow on me, but I'm going to disagree with you about Jason. I can't stand him.

I disliked Jason in the promos but I like him in the house. There's nobody I strongly dislike now. They voted out the one person I did hate first.

(Have not seen tonight's ep yet)

I like Vanessa/Austin alliance andI'm stoked their allies control both HoH this week.

I like John too but he has no strategic game except to do what the HoH says. Really nobody outside the V/A alliance has seriously challenged it. Everybody confides in Clay. Which I must say implies his social game is amazing.

I would like to see Audrey get backdoored. She tells lies so often that she misrepresents things to people that witnessed those things themselves. She will stab absolutely anyone in the back. The house would be wise to boot her.

I know people like Audrey in RL, and can't stand them. These are people who think they can just lie about anything, even when there are half a dozen witnesses who know the truth.

I think I just described the majority of politicians...

Anyway, it's going to be interesting to see what kind of game John plays, now that he's decided to stop throwing competitions just because he was asked. The "Sixth Sense" alliance should realize that at some point people are going to resent being taken for granted and will retaliate.

So Liz voted to keep Jeff because she likes him? Is she crazy? He was actively working against her! The rest of the alliance will not be happy when they figure that out.

That was some weird little monologue Steve had.
