I remember Mary P. Taylor posting on the old phiphi.org book boards that a Crown books in Chicago had released Avatar book 1 early. I loved DS9 so much I left work early and drove downtown to get it.
So so so so so so so so good. We have waited a long time for this. And it's better and more imaginative than I imagined. Maybe a quarter to go yet, and I have to say I am so pleased with this.
Although I was amused DRG did not have Sisko think some shade on, or appreciate the changes within the character of, Castallen Garak!

Ditto this book has been fantastic .It's everything any fan could ask for when it comes to good storytelling. Reading this book it feels like your watching one of the tv episodes.So so so so so so so so good. We have waited a long time for this. And it's better and more imaginative than I imagined. I really enjoyed this. I have spent the last month struggling to get through Armageddon's Arrow and still haven't finished it but I devoured this book over a few days. I loved how it both moved the DS9 story forward and filled the gap after The Soul Key, or at least how it has started to. Can't wait for Ascendance. There is so much going on in this book but it all seems so important and is one of the rare occasions where I want to know what is happening in each storyline. Normally in books with split narratives I only have an interest in one of them, but not here.
I feel I must stop writing now as my thoughts are just pouring out and probably not making sense. But to sum up; I loved it!!!

I just finished this and I voted Outstanding! I loved it! Great job DRG3. This is the "Full Circle" for the new DS9 relaunch for sure. I was one of the people who really liked his last DS9 effort, Revelations and Dust, and this just made it even better, just like RBoE was made all the better by the PoN/RtD duology. DRG3 seems to be giving us DS9 trilogies disguised as single novels followed by duologies. We are a lucky bunch! Thanks DRG3. Keep up the great work. I can't wait for Ascendance

This is true.
After RBoE, and the duology after that, a lot of people who didn't like RBoE judged it in a new light and loved it.
You'd think that when RaD came out, you'd think everyone knew what to expect. But nope. And now, here, DRGIII did the same thing again. People should have realized that RaD was a setup not just for The Fall series, but for another storyline DRGIII would finish later on.
I thought ds9 fans here would be interested in knowing David R. George has announced on his face book page he's signed another contract with Simon& Shuster to continue writing Star Trek books. Recently he posted he wanted to continue writing ds9 books and had future plans for the book series.
