That God-awful ST50 logo...

Official logo not great. Should be more stylish, and less cartoonish.

For Trek fans who are also Freemasons?

"This far, no further!" Ugh.

Every fan transcript I find shows it this way.

Picard would not mix up his grammar like that.

Either is acceptable.

 Just call me Mr. Silence Dogood! Funny you mention that! I did get a little "twinge" of 'Masonry when I first saw it, but I was going more for a minimalist/wait-for-it kind of look. Not in your face all pretty. I dunno, I kinda like it!

"This Far and Not Past This Point!"

hmmm...kinda loses it towards the end!

Sure! I'm not the greatest, but I can give it the old college try.

Great work, J.! :techman:

"Atlas Gold"

Oh, wow. This is not something you would expect (it's more typical of a superhero logo than one you'd find for Trek - not that that's a bad thing) but I really like it. Very iconic and symbolic of Trek being built on the hard work of many people. Excellent entry! :bolian:

Thank you, Locutus. ... and HIjol, I love your jazzy!!! Hahaha ... THAT thing is a thing of beauty, right there.

With all the people ranting about the 50 and the delta, did anyone notice the subtle hull pattern inside "STAR TREK"? I actually really like that part!

That is a cool effect. But I'm in agreement that the delta really needs to either be adjusted or removed entirely.

Take a closer read. It's not what Picard actually said in the film. Both 'farther' and 'further' are used in the same sentence in fan transcripts - that's not acceptable. Make a choice and be consistent, or at least get the transcript right.

Also, in the US at least, where Star Trek is produced, farther and further have different meanings. If either is acceptable, it won't make a difference anywhere else, but get it right here.

Not according to Merriam-Webster.

Some people just have a habit of using "further" instead of "farther," even in proximity to the word "far." I have heard it many times right here in the US. (I have no idea what the correct movie line is, or even what movie it's from).

I don't see anything wrong with it. Beside it the delta that is on the gold service/commendation pin-on. It the same one that is send in Star Trek Voyager and later season of DSN.

The second one, Wow! Love it, and would love to see it on the Big Screen!!! Send it in! :techman:

"L" is the Roman numeral for 50.
Gosh, really?

Believe it or not, not everyone knows the various Roman numerals. Your sarcasm is unwarranted.

Agreed, and thank you! I learned them in school, but I am not sure how common that was.

For Trek fans who are also Freemasons?
Speaking as a Freemason of 18 years, I'm not entirely sure how. Just because it has a single letter in the middle? Wrong one, first of all. Should be a "G", not an "L". Second of all, just no... :vulcan:

Hey, 137th I meant NO offense at all! Just going for a different "minimalist" look, and still pretty new to creating and posting pics. Sorry if I unintentionally crossed a line , and I will request "delete" if I did. I thought "L" was the Roman Letter to denote the numeral 50? Did I miss something with "G". Sorry you did not like my design.
