Star Trek Continues, Episode 4...

This is a neat shot from Ep. 4. It looks so much like it could have been a TOS scene. I'm curious to see Chuck Huber as Prime McCoy as opposed to Mirror Universe McCoy.

This is what (to me, anyway) sets STC apart from the other productions. It has that extra bit of setting, feeling, lighting, style...something that makes it feel like an authentic extension of TOS. It's really evocative that way.

The warp core seems like a bunch of wasted space , just a big room dedicated to a light show. There's authenticity and then there's authenticity.

If the warp engine forced perspective "cathedral pipes" unit were a self-contained unit on wheels, it could be rolled out of the way to free up usable space when it's not needed.

Honestly we have plenty of room for the core and we have enough extra space for anything else we will need so it's not really a concern (but having it on casters is a cool idea if space were limited).

It would also allow you to redress the engineering set as other areas of the ship, just like on TOS.

Scooted out of the way for the Gymnasium in "CharlieX:"

It was also moved and used for the Phaser control room in "Balance of Terror" but it was never used that way in the second or third season once the engine room configuration was changed. We are more interested in having enough space for the Emergency Manual Monitor (which we do have).

Very cool, Hopefully there will be room for some new alien ship or planet-side interiors.

Not just in "Balance of Terror," but in "The Menagerie, Part 1" as well.

As long as we don't have to see those exercise pants from "Charlie X" again. :ack:

It will be great to see the Engineering set when it's all ready. Perhaps it could also be re-dressed to serve as the infamous on-board bowling alley. ;)

Oh, I'll bet Vic is just itching to wear those pants! Speaking of which, I wonder if they do itch.

It would be funny if they showed the bowling alley as a background and there were a formal dance going on, with no explanation.

According to Franz Joseph, Constitution-class ships have a bowling alley on Deck 21, and a swimming pool on Deck 20. And that was before all the hubbub about Trek books being "non-cannnon." ;)
