Why do the seats face each other in the second photo?

The car drives itself. The seats face inward so that the passengers can stare at each other awkwardly during the trip.

I dont. I try to get in a corner and look to the side and possibly lighten things up with a comment or two. But then I was always odd and had a big mouth.

There was actually a Robin Williams routine from the 80's that was strangely prescient of this. Makes me laugh inside every time I pass someone on the side walk talking to "themselves".
