Welcome To The Seven Of Nine/Jeri Ryan Appreciation Thread!
Dedicated to The Awesome Seven Of Nine And The Beautiful & Wonderful Jeri Ryan. :adore:
Talk about Jeri Ryan or Voyager's Seven Of Nine!

Seven Of Nine
Seven of Nine (born Annika Hansen) is a fictional character on Star Trek: Voyager, portrayed by actress Jeri Ryan. Born human, she was assimilated by the Borg at the age of six. Eighteen years later, Voyager left Borg space with Seven on board, after attempts to negotiate passage through Borg space proved only semi-successful. After The Doctor had removed the majority (82%) of her cybernetic implants, her human organs began to reassert themselves, but Seven still required a cortical node to control the remainder of her cybernetic implants. Although her link to the Collective had been severed, Seven of Nine retained the ability to sense nearby Borg activity.

I miss Kes, but I really loved the character, Seven of Nine and the awesome job her actress did in portraying her.

For the pop culture success of her character on a moderately successful long running sci-fi show and her obvious talent/beauty, I think Jeri Ryan - while fairly successful in a endless line of guest/supporting roles in decent enough TV shows for many years now - can hardly ever land roles in solid movies (she's currently filming Against the Wild 2:Survive the Serengeti, a sequel to a TV movie that's got 4.6 on IMDb, OUCH).

You can say that about a lot of Trek actors.

We love them and remember them and get excited at them doing new stuff but big time success eludes most of them.

She had a more solid career than most, but I think she's been genuinely confounded with movies, and with TV I think her career took off when broadcast television started to really crash under the weight of its datedness and fixation on advertising (with a lot of TV scripting being formulaic).

I loved 7of9, she saved that show for me. She certainly had more balls than Chakotay. She also successfully pioneered the "Borg chique" look.

Less is more. She was at her most beautiful when she got to wear the Starfleet uniform in "Relativity".

Stopping by to share in the "Seven love". Her journey to finding her humanity was lovely to watch, and one of the most interesting storylines of Voyager. A toast to Seven Of Nine!

At the Destination Trek in London last October, I could only afford one picture and it was always gonna be between Seven and The Doctor. In the end, I went for the doctor (a nice picture of me and Picardo with a bland background. I later discovered that the picture with Ryan involved an awesome Borg set and two Borg actors to each side) doh!

BUT

Me and my friend were walking through the massive hangar to go listen to a talk by Suzie Plakson and Ryan and her bouncer were walking right towards us in the opposite direction. Literally centimetres from me. We made eye contact and smiled

She's the only one i've ever seen at a convention just walking around like that

It was destiny!

I loved meeting her. I thanked her for her character and all the enjoyment she's brought me over the years and told her 7 was my favorite Trek character ever. It was more concise and well said than that  She seemed genuinely pleased to hear it. I felt good being able to thank her for a character that was so meaningful to me.
