Wow, could a regular (fictional TV/movie) character get punched and go flying across a warehouse and slam into a wall, and get up as if it were nothing, then proceed to put the smack down on an amped up Wesen?

Don't think Jason Statham could take a hit like that outside of the Crank films...

Depending on the TV show or movie, certainly. Lots of action shows and films exaggerate their characters' durability in such contexts.

The stuff with the Rabbit Wesen the guy hunting them was kind of meh. I was glad that they did at least address the fact that the Rabbit guy was named Peter.

And his mother was named Beatrice, as in Beatrix Potter.

The sister was named Chloe. Can't see the rabbit joke there!

(Old news, I know. But I just caught up with GRIMM after falling several episodes behind.)

After Googling for possibilities, I'd say it could perhaps be a reference to actress Chloe Sevigny and her infamous, explicit sex scene in an indie film called The Brown Bunny.

Also, Chloe is a Greek name (an epithet of the goddess Demeter) meaning green shoots or young foliage. Which rabbits eat. But that's probably a reach.

Anyone still watching? This week surprised me, because it was actually a fairly good episode, something I didn't think this show was capable of anymore. The look into Wesen culture with the coming-of-age hunt tradition was interesting; I wish they'd do more of this, fleshing out the Wesen cultures we know, rather than just inventing random new Wesen-of-the-week. Plus it's refreshing to have Wesen civilians who have heard of Nick -- I've complained about the lack of that before.

And while all the stuff with Juliette and Adalind and Prince Ken Doll is still not especially interesting, the scene where Adalind and Renard revealed her pregnancy to Nick had some fun dialogue and reactions, as did the scene with Rosalee afterward.

And the final scene... wow. That's a genuine game-changer. I'm surrpised they had the guts to make such a major change to the status quo, to take away so much of Nick's team's support structure. (Unless it turns out that Wu was so diligent that he already scanned and digitized all the books. I wouldn't put it past him.) I wonder, what about the keys, though? Or have the producers finally admitted that they no longer care about the whole key thing?

I liked the Wesen of the Week storyline this week. Like I said before, I prefer the episodes when we focus on good Wesen and how their societies work. I thought the twist would be the father or that other guy who didn't like Nick would be the killer.

BOOOOOOOOOO Juliette! This might be the point of no return for the character after destroying the trailer. All the precious knowledge from those books is gone forever unless Wu has photographic memory that we have never head about. Juliette has done more to damage to Nick than those useless Royals have EVER done.

Starting fights in bars is one thing, but destroying the trailer is just being vindictive. I still don't like what they are trying to go with Juliette. It looks like the the writers want to do the whole absolute power corrupts thing, but instead of being like the Dark Phoenix saga from the X-men comics, Juliette is coming off as the ex-girlfriend that enjoys making her former boyfriend's life a living hell with the needless destruction. Nick is coming off as completely helpless and that isn't entertaining.

I will be rolling my eyes hard if Juliette is "saved" this season, and the next season is all about her trying to make up for what she did this year.

According to this interview (from July 2014) they keys will come up in season 5. That was 9 months ago so who knows what they're thinking now.

I hope they do something with the keys. We are constantly reminded of their existence in the intro. In fact, when I saw it this time around, I recall thinking "when the hell are they going to get back to the key subplot???" And yeah, Juliette is irredeemable. She needs to go.

That wouldn't have been a twist, since they were the obvious suspects we were being deliberately pointed toward by the writers -- especially the other guy who didn't like Nick. Which is exactly why I found it obvious that the killer would turn out to be the daughter, since she was the only one the script didn't encourage us to suspect.

But she may well have done the show a favor. The team has gotten too complacent, always able to fall back on the trailer as a convenient source of whatever knowledge they need to solve the case. And after four seasons, it's become a cliche now -- "It's a Wesen crime, let's go to the trailer!" Taking that away should shake things up, making the cases more of a challenge to solve. Although they still have Monroe and Rosalee's Wesen knowledge to fall back on, and Renard's as well (assuming he survives whatever weirdness is happening to him now). I watched the burning of the trailer with glee, since it's the kind of status shift that can freshen and reinvigorate a show, and I was impressed that the writers of this lackadaisically plotted, unfocused series could get their act together enough to do something so daring. (Plus it means they'll have to rely on the spice shop more, and anything that means we'll see more Monroe/Rosalee scenes is a positive.)

...Even if it did require Nick and the team to be so stupid as to fail to realize that if Juliette had turned on them, they really ought to protect the secrets that she was privy to. They might not have expected her to go this far, but it should've occurred to them that she could go to the trailer and find some kind of weapon or information to use against them. They should've immediately moved it as a precaution.

So, really, these idiots had it coming. I can't be too upset toward Juliette for teaching them a lesson.

I'd be willing to bet that Wu had copied the books by now, but hte loss of weapons and potions will in the end hurt Nick. And it's possible Nick might even leave Portland now. I certainly hope though that Juliette doesn't kill Adalind and Nick's child in the state she's in now.

Based on casting alone it was either the father or the daughter. Jeff Fahey and Hillary Tuck appear on enough tv shows that it had to be one of them. The curse of the familiar actor strikes again.

The next step for psycho ex-girlfriend Juliette is to try to kill Nick or one of his friends.

I never took a liking to Juliette and wouldn't be disappointed if she - for whatever reason - left the show. She was right, in the last episode, when she said, "You're right, it's time I leave." It can't happen soon enough for me.

Our heroes screwed up again this week in the name of drama. They mistakenly believed Juliette wanted their help when she had already told Nick that she loves the power. They should have ambushed Juliette, tied her up, and force fed her the one of a kind cure. Morons.

I was glad when Monore woged and was ready to attack Juliette when Rosalie got thrown into the wall. Finally! Someone that doesn't worship the ground Juliette walks on!

Also Renard as the ripper looks so damn obvious. I am almost hoping the writers are faking us all out, and the killer is revealed to be... Bud. Bud then proceeds to murder Adalind while Nick's group is too busy dicking around with the Juliette drama. Wouldn't that be wild?

Yup. And man, Sasha Roiz has a terrible Cockney accent. Who was his dialect coach, Dick Van Dyke?


I'm disappointed at how much of a cheat this was. Last week's final scene felt like a real game-changer -- Juliette burns the trailer and all that priceless knowledge and equipment is lost. This week, thanks to a convenient rainfall (evidently), it turns out that most of the weapons survived and the remaining books just happen to include exactly the book they need, with just a few sentences burned off. So that cliffhanger was a total fakeout, and my hope that the writers had actually done something daring was dashed. It's still the same old status quo, just in the spice shop basement now.

Also, it looks like they're really pushing a redemption-of-Adalind arc -- making her more sympathetic, having her voluntarily give up her powers again (or at least suppress them), having her bond with the team by being under their protection, having Nick declare they won't take away her second child. This is probably leading to a resolution where she gets her daughter back.

I had a feeling they weren't going to get rid of the books forever. Maybe we will get a few cases next season when the books are no help at all, and Nick will have to find a solution on his own. Nick only depends on the books so much because he doesn't want to kill any bad Wesen he runs into.

Adalind is desperate now that she can't depend on the Royals, so trying to make allies with Nick's group is pretty smart. I'd rather her be with Nick's group where she can get some actual interesting storylines, than stuck with the Royals for another season.
