Do you rank Tyler as dumb or nasty?

I liked the way they stacked the votes in today's tribal council. How they showed 3 votes Shirin, 2 votes Jenn, then showed the 1 Carolyn vote, just to freak her out because that's exactly how it would have rolled out if Dan had flipped.

I forget, does somebody have an idol other than Carolyn? I seem to remember one being found.

With each episode, I find the players as a whole even more annoying and/or despicable than the week before. This has to be one of the worst casting jobs ever.

Exactly. Worst season ever. I'm saddened one of these boobs is going to win a million bucks.

I'm betting Sierra wins by default.

I suppose not. Interesting that I had to stop and try to remember which one he was, though. When the show is this far along and I'm still having a hard time remembering their names, it's not good...

I still think Tyler and Carylin have the best game, but I doubt they'll last until the end.

Certainly one of the most creative/fun moves at tribal I've ever seen. It's a shame it didn't work enough that Dan or Tyler were voted out. But based on the preview it certainly got the job done in creating cracks in the 6 person alliance. I wonder if it would have been more effective if he had literally handed the idol over to Shirin. But of course, then he has to trust her to give it back after the vote, rather than play it.

I still don't see a path for Mike to get to the final tribal outside winning all but one immunity challenges, but I'm still pulling for it.

This was a "wtf" episode for me. Mike says he's giving the idol to Shirin but she's voted off anyway???

Or was it that she actually had to hold it in her own hand or it had to be given to Jeff for it to count?

That was... mean. And now the only person I want to win is Carolyn, and if she does something nasty, then I won't see any of them as deserving to win.

You can say anything you want before the vote. An idol can only be played AFTER the vote and by the person who is in possession of it. The person in possession of it is free to give it to someone else and let them play it, or to play it for someone else.

Mike's announcement was a BLUFF. He never intended to play the idol for Shirin or actually give it to her and I'm pretty sure Shirin knew that, even if they never discussed it beforehand.

The entire point was to see if he could trick the others to throw votes at Tyler and get voted out instead of Shirin, because if Mike really did vote for a non-Tyler and then gave the idol to Shirin and no one switched their votes it would be one vote for one of the six, one vote for Tyler and everyone else for Shirin and they'd have to revote. It created a chaos that potentially could have saved Shirin (even though it didn't) and definitely is going to cause some cracks in the alliance. Really creative and smart move.

Yeah, Shirin even said in the exit confessional that while she would have loved it if Mike had given her his HII, it would have been a boneheaded move on his part. Malcolm gave his HII to someone else this far along in the game and the first time he lost individual immunity he was voted out.

It was all just a ruse to shake up the bottom two members of the alliance of six and get them to realize that if they're going to make a move, now's their last chance. While it didn't save Shirin, it certainly was successful in shaking up the alliance, who are now gunning for each other instead of Mike.

I cannot fathom how Will, even if he's not sincere, can be so completely clueless about the game to not take the golden opportunity Probst gave him to apologize to Shirin in front of the jury and other tribe members. What an idiot.

Then it looked like Dan might actually show some signs of basic understanding of human compassion with Shirin and altruism with Rodney, but quickly reverted to his true form and badmouthed her and refused to give Rodney the reward.

I'd have no problem with Mike, Carolyn, and Tyler winning. Sierra has gone the under the radar route, which while a valid if uninteresting path, doesn't really make me want her to win unless she wakes up and starts making some big moves at the end. If Rodney, Will, or Dan would win I would be repulsed.

Yeah, I was pretty confused, but I guess the intent was to show who was on the bottom. The problem now is that everyone knows Mike has an idol. I suppose it will create a rift, but Mike still has a big target on his back. I really don't like Will, I think he's too flip floppy and not really loyal. I can see Mike Carylin and Seirra making it to the final three.

Mike is better off with the idol than he would be with Shirin. He was just trying to pull a Russell and keep both.

There can be good reasons to give your idol to somebody else. It's when you're down by 1 member.

As much as I dislike Rodney as a human being he might actually have the best post-merge game so far. He's exercising the self control he was incapable of at the beginning.

Sierra's also redeemed her game a little bit, playing a lot more rational now than she did in the beginning.

Anyone mind a brief comment re last Friday's episode of The Amazing Race?

That potato task was just... yuck. From the vendor deliberately spilling them onto the filthy roadway to the contestants spitting on them... I hope none of them were offered for sale.

This entire season is just kind of 'WTF?' First, the blind dates are all younger hotter people and the established couples are older, less in shape people, yet they keep making a big deal about the bilnd dates doing better. The product placement has always been obviously visible but not quite as blatantly shoved in your face as this season. Blair is the most irritating person in the world and Harley openly hates her.

That's the team with the whiny, squeaky-voiced blonde woman, right? And he just rolls his eyes and slogs on, clearly wishing for the whole ordeal to be over.

I think it's hilarious that Rodney was denied a reward.
I'm starting to think Carolin will end up winning.

Also, it's pretty clear that Harley has in general contributed more to their success and she's kind of followed, yet every time Harley makes a mistake she spends the next 24 hours calling it out.

THIS PERSON, WHATEVER YOUR PERSONAL OPINION OF HIM, MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU GETTING HALF A MILLION DOLLARS. LET IT THE HELL GO!

Carolyn's in a strong position with immunity skill and an idol, but also she might have trouble getting to the finals because she's the obvious vote getter. The idol can only be used until 5, right? She can't afford to lose more than one immunity the rest of the game. What would happen if the final four were Rodney, Will, Sierra, Dan?! Carolyn and Mike are the only remaining passable options.

Anyone see on CBS.com they have voting open for who will appear in the next Survivor? 20 male options, 20 female options, vote 10 of each. Most of them I have no memory of and the ones I do remember I am relatively neutral toward. Jeff from season 2, Kelly from season 1, lots of random people from recent seasons. No Betsy, Yul or Amy, or anyone I particuarly think deserves a second shot. (And nobody who's played twice already).

I hope so. She's the only one left who has played competently, and doesn't have a toxic personality.

To my surprise, Canadians are allowed to vote. The problem, however, is that I don't remember most of these people, and of the ones I do remember, I can't stand the majority. So it's impossible to find even 3 of each that I sincerely believe deserves a second chance.

I don't like Kelly from season 1. She was horrible (although she didn't deserve that over-the-top rant she got at the final tribal council). And wasn't she wanted for some crime somewhere? The only people I'd love to see back from season 1 would be Colleen, Greg, Gretchen, and Rudy (didn't really like him but he was certainly an entertaining old coot).

The only woman from that list who's not a current cast member who I'd give another chance is Peih-Gee. Gotta wonder about the current people on this list... does that mean none of them won (and therefore this is a spoiler?). I'd give Joe and Shirin another chance. And Woo.

I don't remember/like most of the others. And there were about 3 or 4 seasons I never saw, because I didn't have a working TV or any way to watch online.

Rodney was... just disgusting. Whine, whine, whine about washing dishes on his birthday, when so many people don't even have food on their birthdays. What did he expect, that somebody would be nice and give up their reward to someone who has been anything but nice to them? For that matter, Jeff should have baked him a cake and delivered it personally!

    Gah.

You know, my birthday is coming up. And on my birthday, I will in no way be playing Survivor.

WHAAAAAHHH! CBS, how dare you not let me on Survivor on my birthday?! Worst birthday ever!

There is one male on the list I think really does deserve a second chance to play, Stephen. He's the guy who lost in the final to J.T., and I think he deserved to win that season. Also I hope Vytas gets on the show.

Rudy already played a second time, on the first All Stars, and he's got to be like 90 now so it's unlikely the doctor would clear him. (Edit: Just checked, he's 87)

On the female list I would be very happy to see Sabrina back because she's one of those "Only competent player in a weak season" players.

The people I'd like to see back though are memorable players who lost early because they had a bad draw. Betsy from Russell's first season who got voted out because she was female but not stupid. Amy and Brian from Guatemala who got voted out because they wound up in the minority after a tribe switch. Either that or winners of weak seasons like Earl, Yul, Denise, Brian.
