Survivor 30 - Worlds Apart Discussion *SPOILERS*

I will be voting. I also didn't remember most of the people by their pictures (in some cases they look really different from their original season) but after watching the videos it came back to me. I made sure to vote for the woman that got voted out because Russell Hantz's nephew found her too "tempting," even though she barely spoke to him.

That is interesting then, I hope they aren't letting out spoilers that way. I suppose, by the time the voting ends, they will not have officially 'won'. They will not officially win until the reunion show when Jeff reads the votes.
Probst has a weekly Q&A with Entertainment Weekly where he addressed this. He said that if one the World's Apart contestants that is in the running for Second Chances should win this season (only Mike and Carolyn still have a shot), they would be removed from eligibility and whomever was the next highest vote getter would take their place.

So there are no spoilers about them not winning this season being revealed, just the possibility for a big disappointment if one of the people you voted for happens to win this season and can't be in Second Chances as a result.
That's okay by me, then, unless Mike is one of the second chance ones chosen. I'm hoping Carolyn will win, and I also voted for her. So if she wins, that's great, and if she doesn't win but gets a second chance, that's okay as well.

I hope Max doesn't get back in. I guess he was fun to listen to but he was bad at the game. He might get in just because everyone remembers him.

On a semi-related note, any news about this year's Big Brother gimmicks?

Haven't heard about Big Brother (the current Canadian version is airing now, but I haven't bothered to watch it).

I love the way that episode turned out.

But I have to ask, why did Dan cast both votes for the same person? There are very few scenarios where two people would flip their vote and that would actually protect him, and one obvious scenario where he'd want a second vote on somebody who isn't either Carolyn or himself.

If he had thrown his second vote to Sierra, he'd still be there.

Yeah it made little sense to cast both of his votes for Carolyn, but throwing his second vote to Sierra wouldn't have helped either since he still had two votes against him. Had he considered the possibility Carolyn had an idol he could have used both of his votes on someone else to force a tie. Smart of Carolyn to keep her immunity idol a secret.

Anyway, I'm glad Dan is finally gone. I'd like to see whiny Rodney go next.

That's why you don't tell anyone about your immunity idol. Great move, so happy that Dan is history, I find him 20x more annoying than Rodney.

The only person who knew about Carolyn's idol was Tyler, and it would seem that he actually kept his mouth shut about it.

Last night's episode turned out exactly right, including nobody giving up their reward for Rodney.

Unfortunately I don't see anyone but Mike or Carolyn going next episode, unless one of them finds an idol and the other wins immunity.

Why did they not consider that Carolyn might have the idol and try to split the votes? They knew the white collar idol was unaccounted for. If Tyler or Shirin had it they would have used it for themselves. The only chance of it not being in Carolyn's hands was if Juaquin went home with it.

They may have forgotten about it, or just figured Carolyn wouldn't play it.

They don't make new idols available this late in the game, do they?

Aw man, Vince we hardly knew ye. What an insecure guy, but it would have been fun to see him staring into people's souls for a few more episodes.

Not sure that blindside was the greatest move, especially considering the black guy and the deaf girl are just going to drag the team down in competitions.

Well done on the nakedness everyone!!!!

My boyfriend like to be nude as well. Glad there were not afraid to be nude.:techman:

I'm pretty satisfied with the result of the game and the result of the vote. All the ones I really wanted back on the show got on the show. It should be a very strategic season. I'm looking forward to it. Though I'm in mild disbelief that Shirin got in and Carolyn didn't.

This season turned out pretty weak. Not the worst season but probably in the bottom third. It started out just as weak as last season but didn't have the strong ending last season did.

I really enjoyed this season, and am happy Mike won.

As far as the Second Chance cast goes, I'm satisfied with things because 14 of the 20 people I voted for (Kelly Wigs, Jeff, Andrew, Terry, Peih-Gee, Stephen, Monica, Abi-Maria, Ciera, Kass, Spencer, Woo, Keith, and Shirin) ended up being chosen, and I'm excited to see how they do this time around.

As far as Shrin making it over Carolyn goes, I think Shrin connected with audiences more, which is why I think she was picked and Carolyn - in spite of the very strong game she played - wasn't.

Well, I'm not satisfied. Carolyn deserved to win.

As for the second chance people... glad to see that Peih-Gee, Woo, Joe, and Shirin got in. I'm not happy that Carolyn didn't. I'm really not happy to see Crabby Maria and Kass back for a second chance. Those two are absolutely vile.

I don't remember Abby Maria that well, but I was very happy to see Stephen, Vytas, Terry, Spencer, Ciera, and a few of the other ones. Also while I don't necessarily love them, Jeff Varner and Andrew Savage were similar in that they finished 10th and were the first one knocked off as the leader of the losing alliance.

I didn't mind Kass too much. I like Shirin as a person but she's a very bad player and that's what I didn't want in this season. Kelly and Kimmi should at least be wild cards just because you know their games will be completely different after such a long time.

I'm very satisfied with the vote. I'm not surprised Dan and Shirin made an over dramatic speech at final tribal. I actually thought Dan's speech would be more long winded and over dramatic than it was. I'm not too happy about the second chance cast, but at least Spencer and Kieth made it on. Hopefully Spencer won't be forced to ally with Cass again. I'm really glad Mike won though, he obviously deserved it. So glad Rodney lost another reward and the fire challenge, what a fugaze.

I was so hoping that when rodney asked mamma c what she she did deserve to be in the final 3 she would say "I built a fire" lol

I didnt think it was possible for rodney to seem slimier than he did in the show, but he accomplished t with that suit. Blechh

I don't know why Survivor has never had any of the first timers back from Guatemala. IMO that was one of the best casts the show ever had. I'd love to see Rafe, Danni, Amy, Brian, any of them again.
