I finished Star Trek: TOS: Shadow of the Machine. It was a decent little character piece but nothing ground breaking.

I'm now reading The Walking Dead, Volume 6: This Sorrowful Life.

 

Just posted my review for S.C.E. #11: Ambush by Dave Galanter and Greg Brodeur. I really enjoyed this one! Good tension and an interesting situation to see the S.C.E. crew in.

 

Serpents in the Garden by Jeff Mariotte.

 

Waking Up Naked in Strange Places, a werewolf novel by Julie McGalliard.

A great title, I gotta say.

 

I'm on a TOS kick right now. I just finished (and enjoyed) Tony Daniel's (The guy should write Star Wars novels. They'd probably sell on his name recognition alone...and lead to some confusion) THE SAVAGE TRADE, and am now reading FOUL DEEDS WILL RISE by our very own Greg Cox. I'm only 40 pages in, so its too soon to offer an opinion, but if the rest of the book is as good as those first 40 pages, Greg's got another winner here.

Oh....that was an opinion, wasn't it?

Oh well.

 

Foul Deeds... was so far one of the highlights I´ve read this year. Enjoy it.
It could only be topped by the Eugenic Wars novels later this year. I´m dying for them.... .

You haven't read those yet? Well, I'm not going to give anything away, except to say you're in for some fun. I read them four years ago, and still regard them as one of the high water marks of Star Trek books. Greg definately had a winner there.

 

You can´t know that. I want to read them in German. The German Publisher has announced "The Rise and Fall of Khan" 1+2 for December/January. But they have postponed them until further notice. But they will be released this year. No one knows excactly when, though. Therefore I wrote that I am dying for them.

According to this I have to wait until at least the end of May or June. But there is still other stuff to read until then

 

Back in the startrek books, Startrek: The captain 's daughter.

 

Whatever language you read them in, you'll love them.

Trust me on that.

 

That is sure as hell. I´m already a Khanatic .

 

I gave up on finishing "Chains of Command" for the second time. I was aggressively unimpressed.

On to "Infiltrator" by W.R. Thompson. Strong start. Granted, pretty much anything would read well after that last one.

It's a beautiful day to sit outside and read.

 

Just posted my review of Ferenginar: Satisfaction Is Not Guaranteed, Keith DeCandido's entry in Worlds of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Still (slowly) making my way through A Storm of Swords, and also reading Slings and Arrows, Book IV: That Sleep of Death by Terri Osborne.

 

Currently reading the King in Yellow by Robert Chambers and Star Trek: Death in Winter by Mike Friedman.

Just finished last night Star Trek: A Time for War, A Time for Peace by KRAD.

Having only read a handful of KRAD's Trek prose work (and nearly all of his Trek comic output), I was always puzzled by the large number of Treklit posters that hold such fervent admiration and love for his Trek novels, since my own experience reading his stuff never left me feeling that same way. His writing wasn't terrible or dreck; I closed his books satisfied, but not blown away.

Now, after reading aTfW, aTfP, I get it.

What a spectacular novel. Fun and moving and extremely well-written. Worf was a total bad-ass. Alexander was a bad-ass ascending. Who knew Federation politics could be so cool? Who knew Kahless could paint? One last hurrah with the "D guys" and the introduction of the wonderful & vivid Nan Bacco. Bravo.

All of the praise, hype, devotion -- yup, I get it. The remorse that he's being excluded from the current list of regular Trek authors -- yeah, I feel it now, too. My consolation comes from knowing that I still have a ton of Trek novels by him waiting for me to read for the first time (the Gorkon series, Articles of Federation, his contributions to the SCE series, etc), but his absence from upcoming Treklit still sucks.

 

KRAD´s and David Mack´s contributions to the A time to ... series were outstanding. I had to read all the A time to... novels to realize that.

 

Completely agree. I should also mention that David Mack's duology leading into aTfW, aTfP were also excellent. These three books really delivered an incredible conclusion to the A Time to... series and the two authors responsible both deserve my humble gratitude. Thank you, gentlemen!

I last read "Kindred" by the awesome Octavia Butler. Before that, I read "Foul Deeds Will Rise" by Greg Cox.

I want to read "Mission to Horatius" again because I wasn't able to read it properly the first time around.
