Kirk's True Love (Besides the Enterprise)

Edith Keeler, yes.

(also one of the reasons why the "never faced death" stuff in TWOK doesn't make any sense )

Kor

After reading DRG III Crucible novels, I have to agree. It´s Edith Keeler. She keeps on popping up in Kirks head once in a while.

I would say that Miramanee wins hands down. Kirk was actually married to her and had spent alot of time with her. She was even pregnant with his child. Plus he had lost his memory of his previous life and no longer had the stress of being a starship Captain. As far as he knew, he'd spend the rest of his life with this tribe. And he'd have a position of respect and the love of his wife. And probably many more children.
With Edith Keeler, Kirk knew he and Spock were on a clock. That they had to intercept McCoy and fix whatever he did to screw up the timeline. And then they'd leave. Kirk knew at best he would have to dump Edith or just disappear from her life.

Was Kirk or Kirok married to her?

Neither, it was clearly Ruth as seen in Shore Leave. Kirk is almost speechless when he sees her. No smooth Romeo, just pure love and adoration.

I agree. Though Edith (so far) is my favourite of Kirk's women. Pretty, smart, and futuristic thinking! Way ahead of her time.

Yeah, it's Miramanee.

Regarding the others, after Janet Wallace, Janice Lester, and Janice Rand, he probably called a few women Jan by mistake over the years. :)

I say it again; I never got the impression that Edith Keeler was anything special when compared to Kirk's other love interests if the week and never thought Kirk felt anymore but infatuation for her.
But really that's a problem with the bulk of Star Trek romances we are always supposed to believe that the character in question totally loves the random guest character they've just met and will never see again once the credits roll.

Miramanee is a better candidate, Kirk had a sort of life with her, at the very least.

Key word there being almost. :p

Yeah, Edith seems a bit much for a choice of TWOO LUV. Not as OTT as Rayna, of course...
