Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I've no idea what this is from, but wow.

I think this was from 11:59, when Janeway held her weekly staff meeting in her quarters and Tom debunked her cherished family myth that great-great x 10 grandmother was one of the early Mars explorers. :vulcan:

Although... I don't remember these two sitting quite THAT close. :rommie:

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

it is 11:59 and no they did not. it's a manip.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I thought it was peculiar that Janeway was so relaxed with them. The only time you see her staff with her in her quarters and her kicking back. it looks very Mulgrew to me. Not Janeway. Except maybe Kate would be force feeding and wine. She's quite the hostess as I've learned first hand. She fascinates me.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I came across this recently -although i wasnt surprised about what i had read. The only thing that surprised me is why Jeri decided now she has chosen to " sting" Mulgrew? . Throughout the years she appeared on the show and indeed a couple years after. She often spoke about Mulgrew on a professional level and expressed her upmost respect for her. She would often talk about how warm and deep their relationship was. I wonder if the fact Mulgrew has completely moved on , putting more of a distance between them is partly responsible for Ryans sudden confession. I admired their charathers and thought the actresses worked so well together and had such a electifying chemistry, it is so sad they didnt get on off set:wtf:

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

Kate Mulgrew, although allegedly expressing regret on her alleged passive aggressive mistreatment of Jeri that made Garret cry years later, is allegedly again being difficult, diva like, and over competitive towards other cast members on Orange is the New Black. Some people can be relatively nice and talented, but still be difficult to stay in the same room as them for too long I suppose (a lot of actors seem to be like that).

Makes me wonder what Garratt witnessed from his overwhelming emotion.. Maybe Mulgrew was physically abusive as well as verbal?

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

That's certainly true, it really didn't show. Some of the best moments were when Janeway and Seven were having one of their talks.

So very true:techman:

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I was at a convention with Mulgrew not too long ago and she said some things to a young (well, 26) fan that seemed TOTALLY out-of-line to me, about how 26 was too young to get married, and with the young woman's fiancée not being a Star Trek fan the relationship was doomed, stuff like that.

This was not long after she'd narrated some ridiculous "documentary" about Geocentrism made by some German nutcase.

I have to wonder if Mulgrew suffers, as many do, from kind of a case of Dunning-Kruger Effect...

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

I don't get why actors keep talking about their complaints with specific people decades later. It makes them look bad a lot of the time.

I think Jeri hasnt really moved on and i think the longer they are apart from each other , the worse it gets. I mean im surprised. I thought she was 100% happy with her husband and new child. I thought Kate meant nothing . I think she truly means a lot to Jeri and Jeri knows she can not really be happy without her in her life in one way or another . Vica Versa :techman:

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

Later Kate, after Jeri and Braga hooked up, wanted to be friends and Jeri took it.

I do not think because of the Braga/Ryan thing Kate wanted to be friends with Jeri. What makes you come to that conclusion?

If Kate hadn't been riding Jeri (Mental image. You're welcome.)
A wonderful mental image indeed:guffaw:

Whats a dunning-kruger effect:wtf:..I know when the devil side of her kicks it , it overshadows the angelic side of her to the max. It seems she doesnt feel comfortable being nice for long. A jackle and hind thing going on :cardie:

Huh?

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

Neither Mulgrew or other voice overs they used in that doco knew what it was about, it was presented as a science doco. They were all mad and repudiated it as I recall. We've been over this before.

This is projecting and it's nonsense.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

1st: 'What would Tuvix think about this had Janeway not offed him?"

2nd:Multi :scream::scream::scream: :scream::scream::scream: :scream::scream::scream: qoute!

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

Tuvix would make earnest speeches about how Kate and Jeri and some plant matter needed to get into the transporter together because they were meant to be. And because it's Tuvix all that combining of DNA would sound rather skeevy.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

If the person was mulgrew,it wasn't like they were going to focus on seven and not janeway.

I agree. I mean, I wasn't there but previous behavior she LOVED playing match maker. I saw it in 2003 and 2006 and 2009 conventions.

Re: J. Ryan Speaks About Her ‘Intentionally Unpleasant’ Experiences on

Yeah, sounds like typical guest patter during a Q & A, playing with the crowd.

I guess you had to be there. I don't think it was taken that way by anyone there, or the joke fell flat, because people were talking about it in an uncomplimentary way, and the questioner tweeted something like "didn't expect to have my whole relationship called into question by Janeway."

But it's been almost two years, so maybe my memory is obscured.

I also remember something that amused the heck out of me at the time... she was being interviewed, and the interviewer said something about the phasers, but calls them (I think) lasers, and she immediately corrects him... to "RAY GUNS." LOL.

Well, in that case she did have a point. I have the same experiences with a girl who didn't like the music I like and vice versa.

And no, that girlfriend didn't look like Kes! ;)
