Yeah it was. Being I don't work on the flight deck (I'm trapped inside) it's nice to see the sun every now and then lol. Sitting on the flight deck while sailing was cool! I'll post up some more from Hawaii real quick!
Here's a nice candid shot of me helping my friend down the stairs, since she is quite clumsy lol Here we are swimming in a waterfall after climbing a three mile trail to get there. It started raining half way up so we were freezing by time we got to the falls. And here is the view from the top of the trail we hiked, it was beautiful! And the view from the bottom of the hike, near our car here's some turtles we saw, we couldn't touch them because the fine was $5,000 but it was cool to see them none the less and us getting the most important package in the world...red bulls our matching outfits and inter tubes on 4th of July. Would you believe we swam over a mile out into the ocean on those inter tubes? Oh you don't...well we did and got it was exhausting, but it was well worth it. On 4th of July there's a thing called "floatilla" where hundreds of boats and jet skis park out in the ocean and people paddle out on boards, tubes, mattresses basically anything that floats, and everyone parties like no tomorrow!(I'm on the right)
Oh, it's from Dune (a modified version of the Spacing Guild's insignia), this was the original artwork I did for it... Hard to believe I got it nearly 18 years ago (back when I was 30... and had hair). For the last couple years I've worked as the head lifeguard/lifeguard instructor at a YMCA and my normal t-shirt covers it, so when I do water workouts or wear a tank top people always ask me if it is new (it is still pretty dark even after all these years). My wife likes it, so in the end that is what really matters to me. Her favorite thing about it is that it is slightly raised.
That's where my ship is stationed out of yes, but I live in Nevada, I only go out to the ship when it is doing workups. They fly me out.
Serving aboard a U.S. Navy supercarrier has never looked so fun! Thanks for all these latest photos, Brie, and thanks again for putting on that uniform each and every day for your fellow Americans.
I'm pretty sure it's intentional marketing. There was a black bench with the silhouette of Don Draper nearby as well.
Next time ya have (or if) a stay at CFB Esquimalt stop by the warehouse and say hi, jk lol. Nice picture ladies...
