Well, i'm definitely going to try out this game(When I find the time...)
Is there a server dedicated to roleplaying?

As mentioned, there's only one "server". So its a matter of where to find the role players... and the answer to that is Drozana Station and Deep Space 9.

Just read this on i.q. leaks, I hope it actually makes it in-game sounds like fun :)

Special Task Force: Asgard

Unreleased / Cut Content

Asgard is an old style STF mission, consisting of one space and one ground map. In this STF, the team would face an enemy called the Children of Khan, a race of augments attempting to incite a another eugenics war. The Children of Khan steal a ship called the U.S.S. Asgard, and the team must defeat the enemy and retake the ship within the Mutara Nebula
Very little of this STF exists in the files, and it's uncertain whether it was even finished. A few incomplete zone files exist, but nothing more.

Not sure if this is DR related, but I just created a mirror universe character and now I have a question. What year did the Terran Rebellion turn back into the Terran Empire?

I personally am going through a huge breakthrough phase with STO currently; mostly because I finally got some of my good buddies to play with me in the game and have a little bit of fun with it as well. That; and the Delta Rising Expansion Pack that I am enjoying so much that I literally got the intentions and need to go rewatch Voyager all over again.

The Kobali warzone ain't so bad when you get the hang of it; it's almost like a real warzone in a real war battlefield, you don't go in guns blazing with the intentions of destroying the likes of everything in front of yourself with no reprocussions like COD and come out all fine, unlike some of the other "warzones" previously put in the game.

With this, you stop; asses the sitation and tactically plan your attacks ahead and trying to make sure you're not overpowered by the endless amount of Vaadwaur on the planet.

Ok, I think I have decided on how to have the most fun with Delta Rising.

After fooling around on Tribble a bit with my Constitution class, I have decided to make a character completely out of time starting with a T1 constitution and keeping that ship until endgame.

I will make use of the crafting system of course, and outfit the ship with the best possible gear each rank.

This should keep me on my toes especially during the later levels (the Romulan Invasion attempt of Vulcan will probably be the litmus test.)

For teamed content I will switch to level appropriate ships, of course, to not anger anyone or be accused of noobish-ness or trolling unless I can get a premade team, that is ok with it or even using low level ships themselves.

Not a bad idea, I hope you have fun! :D

I'm working through level 57 at the moment, having finally started on Delta Rising (I'm slow to get moving). It has been pretty decent, so far, and I've really started liking the upgrade system, having now managed to upgrade my Mk X legacy borg gear up to Mk XII. The only irksome thing I've found is that there simply aren't enough missions to level you up, and you invariably have to grind, or at least that's been my experience.

Also, getting ancient power cells is a PITA.

Gear up and run Bug Hunt Elite. It's really not that bad, as long as you team up through the PublicSTF chat (PublicEliteSTF? forget and don't have it in front of me). Takes about 10 minutes, and isn't too hard once you've run advanced a few times. Gotta be lvl60 for Elite, so run Advanced until you get the hang of it. Pretty easy time to reward levels there, and as long as you get the 3 alarm bugs, you're not going to fail out. You get people in PUGs that will quit once they die a bunch of times, but as long as you go premade, you're all set. And PUGs are ok at Advanced, but you only get one APC that way...

I am working on upgrading my ground gear (tactical). I am happy with my kit, so just thought I would ask what armor, shields and weapons do people recommend for Bug Hunt?

I was thinking Nukara for the toxin resists.

that works, really any is fine as long as you're getting something for it. I was buying the Delta gear as I went, so started with that gun and went from there. The Adapted MACO gun (and set) is always a favorite, as you get nice short-range plus the grenades. The Counter Command gun worked nicely for the flying bugs. Nukara is nice for toxins, but you can also select that for ground traits and get some help there. Picking for anti-hold is good for the flying bugs too.

In general, it's just not a bad STF to play, and can be handled on Elite without too much trouble unless the team sucks. Not like some of the borg stuff where you get vaped on Advanced constantly and forget Elite completely; this is doable.

And Borg Disconnected Advanced is a space one you can run and expect to usually get the reward, Elite is harder. I usually grab this one out of the publicSTF channel too, so not playing with AFK or idiots, either. 5 people that have at least seen the missions usually makes them pretty doable... :)

Thanks, scout. Finding those power cells has become my primary objective at this point, since I really want this Mk XII Delta Alliance body shield. I currently have 4 out of 5 power cells needed, but that last one is proving elusive.

That said, I think my ship has become underpowered. Now that I've been playing the Delta Rising expansion, I'm finding it much more difficult to battle in space. I used to reign supreme there, and now it's getting harder to stay alive, and worse, it's getting harder to inflict damage upon the vaadwaur ships. Unloading everything I have, with buffs, is like hitting a battleship with a squirt gun. It takes me ages now to take out one ship.

My setup is the Support Cruiser (Ambassador Class) with anti-proton weapons, and borg gear (shields, engines, deflector, console). I've upgraded my engines and shields to Mk XIV, while my deflector is still Mk XII. My anti-proton beams are Mk XII Fleet gear, and my torpedoes are Mark XII Fleet Quantum at the bow, and Plasma aft. Even with the Red Matter Capacitor, and other buffs, I just can't kill the damn things without having a 20 minute firefight.

During the level up to 60, that was happening to me too. Once you get there, they seem just fine again. They're tough as hell during those 10 levels, though...

I certainly hope so. I'm only 1 1/2 levels away from 60. My pride has suffered significantly.

Could be worse. My borg set is an ancient mk xi. But, I am mainly into the story stuff. Mrs is part way through first playthrough of Romulan Arc, so will be on that later hopefully.

The trick in fighting Vaadwaur is knowing their tactics and being able to counter them.

Keep evasive maneuvers and other speedbuffs ready to dodge those artillery cannons. Hit it when those targeting markers appear around you.

When you get pinned down by a subspace anchor thingy, shoot it and kill it ASAP, not sure if Polarize Hull and Attack Pattern Omega provide immunity against those as effectively as they do against tractor beams.

Pretty much every enemy in Delta Quadrant uses one or more debuffs that you need cleansing abilities for. Science Team being the most valuable in my experience.

Learn what the different ship types actually do and prepare the counters for survivability.
To kill them faster keep an eye on their defensive buffs and exploit the downtimes of their defenses. If you have difficulty getting their shields down you can look into science and console abilities to destroy/drain shields or bypass them with shield penetrating gear like transphasic torpedos or special consoles giving your other weapons a bleedthrough bonus.

I don't believe there is any boff skill to combat the constriction anchors effects other than destroying them.
