I haven't played this game in a while, and just logged in last night to check out the anniversary episode. One Harry Kim was bad enough, two of them babbling non stop at each other for about 30 minutes... I wanted to shoot myself.

No, that's not true. I wanted to shoot Garret Wang and whoever made the decision to hire him.

I just got back into this game after a long hiatus. I was fortunate to get a brand new computer and decided to fire it up again. Unfortunately couldn't remember any of my login info so had to start completely fresh. The crafting etc is new to me. Any hints?

Yeah, just use the bonus research to level up while you get back up to max level, which is 60 now btw...
worry later about if you want to learn crafting or get the most common stuff cheap on the exchange instead.

Figure out if you're going to specialize your ship in Beams or Cannons, whether you are going to use science or engineering abilities. The reason is because you get a good personal trait when you reach level 15 in a R&D school.

So if you know you are going to focus on beams, make sure you get Beams R&D to level 15 asap. If you are going to use a lot of science abilities, get Science R&D to level 15 asap.

You want to also decide if you want to level a school asap by doing 3 bonus research for it per day, which goes really fast, or use your crafting slots for a balanced leveling of 3-5 schools at the same time.
I did the former for my first 5 schools which took a while and have switched to powerleveling the 3 remaining schools one after the other.

Somewhat surprised that the new "Command Cruisers" are Tier 6 Fleet level, what with them having eleven console slots.

I expected that almost. These are the successors of the Odyssey class and other factions equivalents.
Feds got the best deal out of it.
KDF ships are really ugly and Romulan warbird shsoes are way to exaggerated.

So... I ended up spending all of my Dilithium Week earnings on the Galaxy Bridge set... but I dunno, I was half-expecting them to have their own corridors too - the TOS bridge did.

I think there is only 3 ship interiors which have their own unique corridors and rooms. The Belfast (Defiant), The Original Series and the Intrepid

Its a shame they don't release some more cannon ship interiors, but they say people just don't buy them and its not worth their time and investment in making them unless they are link to story content.

Which make me wonder why they made the original series and defiant bridges/corridors as they aren't used in any missions i've ever played.

But those interiors were however linked to entire bundles, including ships.
They also predate Pefect World policies and the galaxy bundle dates even back to when the c-store just had vanity items and P2W was not an issue cause the game qas pay to play anyway.
back then the quality of c-store bridgea were really low.

Ok, weird glitch.....

Playing the mission "Seeds of dissent" from the Cardassian Struggle storyline. I enter the Goralis system, I'm hailed by the Cardassian ship..... but then it registers as ally.

*EDIT* Right, never mind. Restarted the mission, all is well.

They're adding an in-game memorial to "Spock" after this upcoming Thursday's maintenance.

I was looking for any information on that and came up empty besides players requesting an in-game memorial. Could you give us a link to that please? I'm interested to see what they're gonna do.

I am on Tribble now, looking at the map. I have to relearn where everything is now. For example the Nimbus system has been moved far away from New Romulus.

another thing - when you select a system from the map and travel there, it takes you to the sun. But to enter the system, like deferi for example, you have to then go to the planet. The Deferi star is 1.48 ly from the planet on the map. so the star is too far away to get to the planet.

I also went to the Rolor nebula, and none of the duty officer assignments come up. I know it's early in the testing, but they should make sure the DOffing is set up right day one.
