Who Sticks Out For You?

He stuck out to me because he is like the "fresh new wind' type for Bajor's religion vs. Winn's two-faced conservatism, so I really liked Bareil for being a positive and reasonable religious character in Trek, which are hard to come by.
If you look at Winn and Bareil from a religious perspective both of them are very interesting.

To each their own. To be honest, I always found Bareil to be pretty much the definition of a bland, vanilla leading man. Kira could have done so much better!

On other hand, I wouldn't have minded seeing that crusty Bajoran farmer played by Brian Keith again. He and Kira had a nice, prickly dynamic.

If a character is boring (IMO) I don't care whether he's good or bad or in between, that's much less important to me than me being entertained and not distracted from what is supposed to distract me. It's not a good sign when watching a show you suddenly feel the need to find something to occupy your mind. That's the effect that Vedeck bereil and a few like him had on me and I was usually glad when their part was over.

Too bad, he was a bit old for Kira though.;)

TOS: William Windom as Matt Decker
TNG: Carolyn McCormick as Minuet
DS9: J.G. Hertzler as Martok
VOY: Martha Hacket as Seska
ENT: Joanna Cassidy as T'Les

Not that kind of dynamic. :)

Meanwhile, let's not forget Yeoman Martha Landon from "The Apple." Her cool Emma Peel-esque judo moves alone make her stand out from the pack of TOS yeoman.

And I'm just saying that because I have an autographed photo of Celeste Yarnall framed on the wall of my office!

Iggy Pop as Yelgrun. Iggy is still Iggy even with Vorta make-up. :techman:

And Hamilton Camp as Eliminator Leck. Different from other Ferengi. I didn´t know that Hamilton Camp was a folk singer so I checked out some of his songs

Emily Banks as Yeoman Tonia Barrows. She was GORGEOUS, and she had a great chemistry with DeForest Kelley.

Kevin Riley. Bruce Hyde was just charming in the role.

Dr. M'Benga. I would've been interesting to see more of McCoy interacting with other doctors in his department.

Dr. Selar. I wish that they'd gone with Tracy Torme's idea of her having a romance with Worf. That would've been a lot more interesting than having him with Klingon women.

Nick Locarno. He had an edge and was a bit of a prick, with made him much more interesting than Tom Paris.

I have mixed feelings about M'Benga. I like the actor and the character, but I can see why the show forgot about him. Having a doctor aboard who knows more about Vulcans than McCoy automatically sidelines Bones every time Spock is injured, infected, or ends up in sickbay. In theory, M'Benga should have been called in when Spock went into heat, lost his brain, needed to provide blood for his father, was blinded, driven mad, etc., which would cut into McCoy's screen time.

And given that the Kirk/McCoy/Spock dynamic is a big part of TOS . . . .

In retrospect, it might have been better to keep M'Benga on as the ship's "other" doctor, for times when Bones is stranded on Alpha Beta VII or whatever, but dropped the bit about M'Benga being an expert in Vulcan physiology.

If anybody's going to treat Spock, you want it to be McCoy.

It´s good to see M`Benga playing a bigger part in Vanguard :)

Grand Nagus Zek, played by Wallace Shawn. Everybody may hate the Ferengi episodes, but I enjoy them, mostly because of his acting.

TOS:

Commodore Mendez (The Menagerie) I liked Malachi Throne's portrayal of Starfleet brass. He had his own chemistry with Shatner/Kirk and would've liked to have seen him return. He also wasn't completely cold and detached.

Yeoman Barrows (Shore Leave)
Sarek & Amanda
T'Pau
Lt. Bailey
The cast of "The Cage".

TNG:

Captain Maxwell (Obrien's former captain)
Captain Jellico
Kyle Riker
Robert Picard & Family
Cmdr. Shelby

I'll have to hold back on DS9, VOY and ENT until I see them completely.

Pretty much anyone who I thought was awesomely beautiful. :D
Was there ever a woman on Star Trek who wasn't awesome and beautiful?

The old ones.

RUK: Yes. Yes, it had been so long ago, I had forgotten. The old ones here. The ones who made us, yes. Yes, it is still in my memory banks. It became necessary to destroy them. You are inconsistent. You cannot be programmed. You are inferior.
