Once Upon A Time Season 4

Agreed, but the thought occurred to me last night - why did Rumple have to wait for the Queens to come back with the scroll? Couldn't he have just folded himself up into the trunk of Cruella's car without anyone noticing? I understand the point of establishing "trust" there, but from a tactical POV, going in hidden with the others would have been more efficient.

I thought he was in the trunk and was wondering why Regina and the Charmings didn't search it, so I was surprised to see he was still outside. But then that brings up the question of why they didn't take the scroll back from Cruella and Ursula.

It's been awhile since I've noticed a Lost reference so I liked seeing Gold, Ursula and Cruella going through the drive-thru at Mr. Clucks. If I'm not mistaken that was Daniel Dae Kim doing the voice of the fast food worker.

I'm guessing that Snow and charming made some kind of dead with the Queens of Darkness than gave Emma magic powers. Whatever it was it must be pretty dark.

This was a good start to the second half of the season. When they first introduced the hat and the The Apprentice some people were wondering if we'd see Chernabog, and tonight we got our answer. I did get a kick the reveal that Gold was the professor who translated the ceremony, I didn't see that coming.
I like The Queens of Darkness, they seem they should be fun villains.
I wonder how long it will be before the others realize Gold is back in town?

Don't take offense, but I thought you said you were done watching this series after the Frozen arc was concluded. If not, that's good. Happy viewing. :)
I think you're thinking of someone else. OUAT has been one of my favorite shows since it first started, and I don't remember ever planning on stopping watching.

I don't think the charm would have worked for Gold had he been in the trunk. I think the person had to look at it/read it for the charm to work.

I sighed when Emma told Regina that they would never stop looking for "him" (she meant the author). :sigh: When we saw that snippet in the promo weeks ago, I assumed the "him" she was referring to was Robin.

Speaking of sighs, I wonder if the reference to Emma stealing the VW Beetle was a reference to her misspent youth. :alienblush:

And speaking of misspent youth, LOVED the part where Hook asked what the Savior and Evil Queen had to fear from this week's big bad and Regina asked, "Can we drop the "E" word already?"

I did like the appearance of everyone having some happiness, Regina going back to be Mayor, Snow/Mary Margaret going back to teach school, Hook and Emma getting on with their relationship, Granny playing babysitter for baby Neal.

But then the reminders that all was not well.

Henry studying the storybook for clues to the author, Regina finding and pasting the painting of her and Robin back together again, Hook unhappy with his past villainy even if he was controlled at the time of said villainy, and Belle... Belle of the broken heart. I thought it was sweet when Hook tried to reassure her Gold truly loved her... and silly at the same time. Is he trying to make Belle second guess her decision to march him out of town? And what's with the Blue Fairy? She looked ready to jump out of her skin at any moment.

I'm really not sold on any of the "Queens of Darkness," casting or what little we've seen of character - potentially the weakest villains so far. Though it was good to see why Cruella belonged in the pack overall she still seems to be a completely out of place choice; Cinderella's stepmother would have been a better fit, for example. Still, not a bad opening all things considered, and the ending has me curious for more, so that's always good.

By far my biggest complaint was Chernobog. He's one of the most terrifying and primal of all Disney villains, and using him as just a roaring monster easily dispatched by the town line is bullshit. He should be a major Big Bad, not a one-off chump villain.

I really, really like the show. But them declaring Cruella de Vil a fairy tale character kinda bugs me. Just when I'd gotten used to Robin Hood being a fairy tale character (instead of folklore) ...

Not really. Not any more than Dr. Frankenstein, or the Mad Hatter, or Lancelot, Blackbeard, Glinda the Good Witch, can probably keep going...

And several of those were there on day one, so not like they're out of 'good' fairy tales and are stretching, they've chosen what's interesting to them from the start. Folklore, fairy tales, anything in the public domain or owned by Disney is fair game...

^^^ Including small allusions to Star Wars since the buy-out, including Henry's cellphone ringtone.

Honestly, at this point it's pretty much just Disney characters and some public domain characters. They moved beyond "Fairy Tale" characters quite a while ago.
I am very curious to see Cruella's backstory and how exactly she fits into the show's multiverse though. She's the first story book character who comes from a story as modernish as 101 Dalmations, and I'm curious if they're going to just drop her into the Enchanted Forest or if she'll come from another world and travel there.
Personally, I'm curious if we're ever going to get Tarzan or Hercules, and I mean this with all seriousness. I like both of those Disney movies, and would love to see them worked into the OUAT multiverse.

Tarzan would be a little tricky as Disney doesn't currently own the rights.

They keep making Tron references as well as if the real world scenes at set in the same real world from the Tron movies. Encom ads were shown in scenes set in the 80s, Space Paranoids is a real game that Emma played as a kid.

I think I'm only watching the show because I want Tron to show up in person. That would be great.

My apologies. I should've read the previous posts. It was indeed a different poster, Admiral2.

I would love to see those two characters. Loincloth and all. :adore:

Frankenstein wasn't from the Fairy Tale world, though. Wonderland is also shown to be a different world.

So, obviously they're mixing fairy tales and folklore/legends into one world, as seen with Robin Hood, Lancelot, Mulan. But for other characters, they've created these different worlds. Frankenstein's from a gothic horror world, Wonderland and Neverland are their own worlds, Alice is supposed to be from a semi-realistic Victorian England that's still another universe and not the one Storybrooke is set in.

Well, it's not a dealbreaker. And we haven't learned the backstory of Cruella, yet, she might not actually be originally from the Enchanted Forest.

They'll be visiting Star Wars world for next year's Christmas Special.

That was a clever trick to defeat the monster from Bald Mountain, but I was a little disappointed that it disappeared in a puff of smoke-- I was expecting an ordinary bat or something to pop out the other side of the barrier. :rommie:

I dont know if its me, but im having a hard time trying to fit all these flashbacks in order. Its like enough already. How much stuff can really of happened in that short time in the past.

Plus the show is starting to get long in the tooth for me.

Anyway, can someone explain to me what happened to Anastasia from OUaT in Wonderland?

Have they said any thing on screen that ive missed? Looks like Knave moved on but trying to piece that whole time line into this. Plus how did he get back to Story Brooke.

Wish this show would focus more on Emma and the other characters. I really dont care for either Snow or Hook.
