I've been working through the voyager relaunch, and recently finished The Eternal Tide. Normally I don't tend to read TOS novels, but this weeks sad news made me want to read one - so I'm about half way through My Enemy, My Ally.

I finished reading The Maze Runner last night. I really enjoyed it, and gave it a 5/5 on Goodreads. I'm really looking forward to checking out the movie now.

Took me nearly three weeks to polish off The Light Fantastic. I really liked it, but something about it felt a little off. Oddly paced, the ending felt rushed, even. Not as good as Immortal Coil for certain.

I'm currently 50 pages into Disavowed and am loving it.

So, I'm going to have to restart the year's "Recreational Reading" count from scratch, after the book I've been recreationally reading - The Black Count, by Paul Reiss - just got turned into a professional research for work thing, while I'm still reading it...

I just finished the other day the last SCE book. This was a series I first experienced in book form when the first four stories were printed about fifteen years ago and managed to finish them in ebook form. It took a while but finally finished the series.

Finished Vol 1 of DCs TNG comics. Wish I had those hours of my life back. Not good at all. The only redeeming factor was getting to see TNG through the lense of those who had only seen a handful of episodes.

I read Greg Cox's TNG novel Dragon's Honor yesterday, a really fun romp in the best sense of the word. The prose was beautifully descriptive - sometimes too much so, which suited the atmosphere of the over decorated Pai, and the plot kept a pretty fast pace. There was really nice use of all the cast in their own subplots as well as nice character touches, such as a brief look at the late season 7 Riker/Troi/Worf triangle that enhanced the reading experience. A really lovely way to spend a lazy day.

One thought I was left with though was that the Pai, who were negotiating for admittance into the Federation were extremely sexist. I'm not really sure of the exact requirements are for a planet to be ready to join the Federation, but don't they generally have to have ended discrimination of women and other minorities?

Did you like that aphorism guy with his weird sayings? I didn´t "get the picture" (so to say) of most of them, but the novel was hilarious.
