I think Faustus hypnotizing the boss like that sort of bordered on the absurd. It was a little out of place tonally with the rest of the show since the boss was so serious and tough up to that point. Particularly given the way it ended.

Sentient raccoon? No problem.
Living trees? Sure, why not.
100ft flying space worms from an interdimensional portal? Works for me.
Hypnosis? Woah, let's not get crazy here.
Agent Carter may have a different tone from the rest of the MCU, but it's still a part of the MCU. I don't see how superpowers or magic rings are absurd coming from this universe.

^To be fair, he'd been softening him up all day. Clearly there's something about that ring that opens people to suggestion. Could it be one of the Mandarin's (the real one) ten power rings? I assume one of them grants psychic powers of some description. Bonus points if it's the left ring finger.![]()
She's coming down the stairs and she's coming fast!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that might be one of the Mandarin's Rings. Or if not the original, at least a workable knockoff.
According to: http://marvel.com/universe/Mandarin%27s_Rings... the Left Ring Finger: Mento-Intensifier AKA "The Liar", Magnifies the Mandarin’s psychic energy enabling him to mentally control a person. Only effective at short range. (I just checked the scene from this weeks episode and the ring he used to dull the pain of the solider whose limb was being amputated was on his LEFT RING FINGER!!!

I've realized something I'm not happy about:
They showed Sousa in the dentist's office reading the orders for Peggy Carter's assassination. They made sure we got a good look at those orders as he read them, the same orders we already saw Dottie write down last week. Now, why would they show that scene? If he were a good guy, he'd just say "Hey, Peggy, they want to kill you," and we already knew that, so then the scene would serve no purpose. The only reason that scene would be included is if Sousa's working for Leviathan and now intends to carry out the hit on Peggy. Which is a real bummer, if true.
