I'm going to look at this from a producers standpoint...
I have an actor who isn't up to par with the rest. Requires more rehearsal, more takes, etc. She's asking us for an acting coach to help with that. If her character where more consequential to the show, then maybe I'd put up with it. But since her only real purpose these days is to be Worf's sidekick... yeah not so much.
This same actor is wanting a pay increase for the final season of the show. So is everyone else but she's not that great, not that important and her character has a built in reset button. We can replace the actor without having to truly replace the charactor. Sure's she's pretty and the fans like her but we can use her death as a nice plot device.
To me this is a no-brainer. There is literally no reason to keep Farrell from their perspective. Any other character and they may have given in with it being the final season. But a character with a built in replacement clause? Nope. She had zero room for negotiation.

I wouldn't exactly call her Worf's sidekick, that is depending on what leg he's kicking with.
I can't disagree with any of this. I didn't like it when it happened, but I'm also not 14 years old anymore. I'll have to go watch the last season again, I never really got into Ezri, she was played by a decent and attractive actress, I just never could get into her character because she felt so much weaker than Jadzia was.
Not if it's to play the same role, but this doesn't exactly qualify, does it?

Well, the "role" is not exactly well defined. Take Joran Dax for example, the way he's played in "Facets" has absolutely nothing to do with the way he's played in "Field of Fire"
I wonder why when Avery Brooks is playing a evil/excited person he can't refrain from panting, like a dog after a long run. I find that a bit annoying.
Look at the way he plays: Joran, Hippocrates Noah, The writer in that dream he had, or even Sisko when he's dictating his log in In The Pale Moonlight. They're all one and the same!
The same reason why he can't stop using odd pauses and emphasis when he gives one of his speeches/is angry.

I find that annoying as hell, I don't get why Sisko is so popular, to me he's the second-most annoying character/actor after Jadzia/Farrel.
On Farrel: Just saw 'Through a looking glass" I thought I found her fairly convincing as the seductress in the MU. Certainly more convincing as her wooden acting as regular Jadzia.
Is it my imagination or does Jadzia look prettier in the MU?
^ It's the shorter/more stylish hair I think, it really suits Terry Farrel. Plus she also had more flattering makeup and her movements were less "stiff". I think she was just more comfortable with that type of character.
The first time I saw Marina Sirtis in an interview, I found that she was much prettier and sexier than in her role as Deana. It's like they deliberately lessened her beauty.

Same with McFadden, Crosby, Farrell, Visitor, Mulgrew, Ryan, Blalock, etc. Nicole DeBoer is cute, so is Linda Park, but meh. Nothing about them is appealing to me.

Why not? Look how many people have played various Shakespearean characters. Do all the actors who have ever played Hamlet have to be exactly the same height, even in the same production, if the star gets sick and the understudy has to take over?
This happens all the time on soaps. Take One Life to Live, for example. There were about a half-dozen actors who played the role of Kevin Buchanan, and that's just when the character was adult (there were a few others when the character was a kid). In my opinion, the best adult Kevin was also played by the shortest actor.
Besides, it wasn't Jadzia Dax who was recast. It was Dax with a new host, who was played by a different actress. The height difference between the two actresses is irrelevant.

She does! It's a monologue she puts on at conventions. Unfortunately, it always reminds me that in spite of Terry Farrell, (1) she did better work on DS9 than Sirtis did on TNG, (2) Dax was a more important character than Troi and (3) Dax never crashed the ship.
