You have to have just the right look to play a good symbiont. Although Jadzia has been known to take any old ugly thing inside her....
KAPOW!
She said she had a dalliance with the man with a transparent skull once, but I don't know how old he was.

I'm going to look at this from a producers standpoint...
I have an actor who isn't up to par with the rest. Requires more rehearsal, more takes, etc. She's asking us for an acting coach to help with that. If her character where more consequential to the show, then maybe I'd put up with it. But since her only real purpose these days is to be Worf's sidekick... yeah not so much.
This same actor is wanting a pay increase for the final season of the show. So is everyone else but she's not that great, not that important and her character has a built in reset button. We can replace the actor without having to truly replace the charactor. Sure's she's pretty and the fans like her but we can use her death as a nice plot device.
To me this is a no-brainer. There is literally no reason to keep Farrell from their perspective. Any other character and they may have given in with it being the final season. But a character with a built in replacement clause? Nope. She had zero room for negotiation.

Lets all just admit it's because she was shorter. You can't replace an actor or actress with someone shorter than the original.
Or can you?

Not if it's to play the same role, but this doesn't exactly qualify, does it?

I've always wondered where the Doctor's extra mass went when Colin Baker regenerated into Sylvester McCoy...
Well if Dax is still there, it's half of the same role.
I wonder why when Avery Brooks is playing a evil/excited person he can't refrain from panting, like a dog after a long run. I find that a bit annoying.

The same reason why he can't stop using odd pauses and emphasis when he gives one of his speeches/is angry.
It. Is. Easy. To. Be. A. SAINT.....in.Paradise. (pause) But. those. people. are. not.....SAINTS. (pause)"
I find that annoying as hell, I don't get why Sisko is so popular, to me he's the second-most annoying character/actor after Jadzia/Farrel.
On Farrel: Just saw 'Through a looking glass" I thought I found her fairly convincing as the seductress in the MU. Certainly more convincing as her wooden acting as regular Jadzia.
^ It's the shorter/more stylish hair I think, it really suits Terry Farrel. Plus she also had more flattering makeup and her movements were less "stiff". I think she was just more comfortable with that type of character.
The first time I saw Marina Sirtis in an interview, I found that she was much prettier and sexier than in her role as Deana. It's like they deliberately lessened her beauty.

A bit of her sexiness dies every time she says "Deep Sleep Nine." Hahaha, Sirtis.![]()
I never really found Sirtis all that attractive. Don't know why, but she does nothing for me.
Same with McFadden, Crosby, Farrell, Visitor, Mulgrew, Ryan, Blalock, etc. Nicole DeBoer is cute, so is Linda Park, but meh. Nothing about them is appealing to me.
Good thing I have a hot wife.![]()
Why not? Look how many people have played various Shakespearean characters. Do all the actors who have ever played Hamlet have to be exactly the same height, even in the same production, if the star gets sick and the understudy has to take over?Lets all just admit it's because she was shorter. Maybe the Seventh Doctor actually listened to Mel and drank his carrot juice?I've always wondered where the Doctor's extra mass went when Colin Baker regenerated into Sylvester McCoy...

I didn't see that one. She really says "Deep sleep nine"?![]()
