I like that notion, that eventually CCPD would be tapped to have something more appropriate to contain all the metas. As it stands, the ONLY metahumans around are a result of the explosion (Ra's possible immortality nonwithstanding) so as of right now they're the only place equiped to handle it. Eventually if the authorities start to deal with metahumans with an appropriate task force (as has been seen more than once in DC) then they'll have to put them somewhere. Or ship 'em to Belle Reve or Arkham or wherever else in the DC-verse has been shown in some iteration to be able to handle supervillains to some degree.

Aside from Detective West...no duly constituted law enforcement personnel, nor officers of the courts, know of the Pipeline. Yet.

Considering what we're now expecting Wells' role to become, I think the Pipeline is a ticking plotline-bomb deliberately set up by the writing staff of the series. The only question remaining for me is "when will it go off?"

As for why would that happen?

Wells wants Barry to not just be a competent hero...but a Legend.

He has a medical condition that requires the eating of Speedforce, or he is going to die (or weirdly worse.).

The speed force is also a barrier at light speed. Bouncing or hugging against it causes time travel, that you can only get to by running fast enough.

Has Barry even broken the sound barrier?

Think of speedforce as a special sauce, and Wells won't eat anything unless it's dripping in that sauce, like the Dutch with their mayonnaise French fries.

Maybe I could have just said that it's all like Fondue?

Wells wants the cheesy speed force, but right now he's out of bread sticks.

Question is, after Barry unwittingly volunteers as Bread for wells, does Harry have to eat the dipping bead outright, or can he just suck the speed force off( the Flash), and then dip Barry back into the speed force for a second, third and fourth helping.

Hasn't been mentioned yet.... but Cisco does something major, that has bad consequences, but nobody reprimands him? (opposite of Wells reaction to losing the Captain Cold gun).

If Cisco doesn't again, I predict many people dying of cirrhosis of the liver (sp) due to a new Cisco drinking game.

It looked like Wells and Caitlin had already called Cisco out on the carpet by the time Barry (and the cameras) showed up and learned what had happened. And Cisco kind of made up for it by finding out about Ronnie.

I thought that was what Belle Reve was supposed to be, no?

I seem to recall it getting a mention a few weeks back in either Flash or Arrow, so it would appear they have plans to add it to the universe.

After a week in a box with no human contact, that's when insanity starts.

Anyone locked in a box down there, has a hallpass to murder anyone they like while breaking out, and it's inarguably legally defined self-defence.

Three meals and fresh clothes every day for 3 or four people?

Who is actually locked down there? Bricks dead, and Hartley escaped.

They don't open the Mists door, it's been months, if he doesn't need to eat, I'm guessing he's given up on clothes and the humanoid form, but does he still have a mind any more?

This is worse than than Oliver killing all those body guards and henchmen in season one.

Teleporter girl can be rendered powerless by a blindfold. Or chemically remove her sight temporarily. Regular prisons can hold her, but they're not allowed to, because she has not had her day in court, or even been charged.

Besides, with her powers, her community service would probably be being attached to super powers wing of the KCPD, along the lines of the Suicide Squad, that's eventually going to be formed if Wells lets the cops try to learn how to cope with this growing problem themselves.

343 meters per second? Considering he moves at the speed of plot all the time (took him what, 2 seconds to go back to his place, pack his stuff, and get back to West's place?)... Yeah, do the math.

Every living creature needs some type of nourishment to sustain itself... But the laws of nature don't exactly apply in capeshit, so this isn't really an issue.

One can argue that Oliver's victims were casualties of war... I guess metahumans can be considered prisoners of war then, but even POW's have rights, and captured metahumans don't seem to have any.

What you're saying is silly boarding on offensive, but I do that every day too. Humour is difficult. The odd thing is that I had the reverse thought to your position when Hartley first expressed his powers(weapons), that some suit at the Network refused to allow a gayman to run around blowing into a one foot long pipe as a super power because it looked too much like fellatio.

Seriously? Why call him a Piper if he doesn't have a pipe?

Would they have let a straight guy, a straight girl or a lesbian have a pipe a pipe to blow?

Probably not.

They almost always had the local paper used in the series be called the Central City Daily Star.

Which is interesting, since Daily Star was the original name of the paper where Clark Kent and Lois Lane worked. It was changed to Planet by the daily newspaper comic strip, since there were real papers named Daily Star, and other papers that carried the strip didn't want to promote their competition. And the comics and other versions followed suit.

Joe Shuster worked at the Toronto Daily Star. The original building is gone but a lot of the art deco motifs and brass doors and fixtures were incorporated in neighbouring building renos so you can walk around downtown and actually take the same elevator he did, although moved to a different building across the street. If you are ever in the city take a walk through the Commerce Court building, which was contemporary with the Star building and across the street from it. It really gives you a feel for those times, especially looking out the windows that actually open on the 30th floor.

Barry and Caitlin's night out was a lot of fun. I wouldn't be totally against Barry and Caitlin getting together, but I'd rather not see them have Caitlin start pining for Barry while he's now with Linda Park.
I was surprised by Cisco's fighting skills. I was disappointed that Hartley did manage to escape from him. I could see them possibly turning his screwing up like that into an arc, where he does something like that again and in order try to fix it turns himself into Vibe.
I liked the scene at the end between Barry and his did. I do have to wonder what kind of role his father might play in the show if they do get him out of jail.
I'm kind confused though, because the preview they were showing before this one seemed to show some scenes with Barry and Linda Park that weren't actually in this episode.
The end scene was pretty great. I was really hoping that was a set up for next week, but it looks like we'll have to wait for a full on Grodd episode. I wonder if one of their cells in the Pipeline would be able to handle a full grown particle accelerator explosion enhanced Gorilla.

Me too, and I noticed the same thing. I can't go back and check now, because I've deleted all episodes, but I guess it could have been deceptive editing of scenes we actually saw.

I just can't wait to see where they go with Grodd.

Clearly his intelligence and mental abilities will be due to Wells' experiments, rather than a radioactive meteor or an alien, but I do wonder how far they're willing to go with him. This show hasn't shied away from the fantastical, instead it's made it it's core premise, so I'm hoping we get the whole deal. Maybe even Gorilla City in the future.

One of the aspects of the tomorrow people, more so in the 70s, was that the tomorrow people were always scanning for "breakouts". Newly emerging telepaths. Why wouldn't the Tomorrow Gorilla's from Gorilla City be scanning the world for new breakouts?

I find it odd that we hadn't heard about this earlier (and this news is for NEXT week's episode!)... they've been better letting us know about special guest stars...not a biggie, just surprising.
