I did find it odd that somebody who can't get drunk would be just as vulnerable to hot 'n' spicy as the rest of us.
That's different. Alcohol has little effect on him because he metabolizes it so quickly. But the burn caused by the capsaicin in peppers is more of a neurological phenomenon -- it causes the nerves to react the same way they would to a burn, triggering reactions like throat constriction or inflammation. So that's his own body reacting to the perception that it's being burned. If anything, I'd think his accelerated physiology would worsen the effect rather than negating it. As long as the pepper's in his mouth, his nervous system is going to be reacting to it in hyperdrive.
ETA: Was Chase the one playing the desperate widow? I had no idea, but I was totally rooting for Joe to get him some!
I had no trouble recognizing her -- she was pretty hard to miss.
By the way, throwaway DC-Universe reference watch: Barry's plans for his second date with Linda included going to a
Mal Duncan concert.
