I'd like to think if Jennifer had been alive but there was no chance of saving her and Sisko had refused to leave that the Bolian would have knocked him out and dragged him to the escape pod.
There didn't really seem to be time for a discussion on the matter.

You mean they Knighted Picard, as well? I wonder how they did that since there hasn't been any knighting in France since the French have decapitated their last absolute monarch, circa 1790, if memory serves.
Indeed she did. And so did Louis XVI.As for Marie Antoinette, her final words were "pardon, I didn't mean to do that." Or words to that effect, because she'd just stepped on somebody's foot. Even as she was about to be executed, she conducted herself with decorum.
Agree with that. I can understand why the author would want to do that, but it does seem a bit revisionist. Can make the novel seem a bit fan-fic-likeYes, it would be interesting, dramatically, had the other officer lied about Jen's actual condition to $ave Sisko, but it would've had to have been followed up, if they actually did that. Otherwise, really, it's just novel stuff and with the rare few STAR TREK novels I've sampled, I hate when the author puts their own spin on actual events in the franchise. I eventually winged one book in the trash, just for that reason ...
But no one ever calls them "sir" followed by their first name. This is just a medal.Sir.........................

There are knights in the Legion of Honor under Napoleon and all later regimes up to the present day.
... Sacré bleu!Madame Du Barry, on the other hand, was very afraid, begged the crowd to rescue her and her last words were "I beg you for one moment more, Monsieur Executioner; just one, little moment!"
That's always been my take on it: STAR TREK novels are just Fan Fiction that you have to pay for, really ...... I can understand why the author would want to do that, but it does seem a bit revisionist. Can make the novel seem a bit fan-fic-like
I had never thought of this before... it's certainly possible, although aren't we forgetting that the wormhole aliens did have a plan....
