TOS: Savage Trade cover

However, even a cursory glance at the list of proposed member ships in the class reveals the theme:

NCC–xxxx U.S.S. Archer
NCC–2012 U.S.S. Merida
NCC–xxxx U.S.S. Arjuna
NCC–xxxx U.S.S. Artemis
NCC–1968 U.S.S. Bowman
NCC–xxxx U.S.S. Kyudo
NCC–xxxx U.S.S. Locksley
NCC–xxxx U.S.S. Longbow
NCC–1905 U.S.S. Rama
NCC–xxxx U.S.S. Huang Zhong

Along with the USS Queen, USS Harper, USS Barton, USS Everdeen, USS Cupid...
If you're going to have Queen and Harper, then you should put Bishop in there with Barton.

^I've vaguely heard of her, but I'm not familiar enough with her to have remembered her off the top of my head.

I haven't read anything with her in it yet myself, but I've come across her reading about some other characters and the series she's appeared in.

The stories written by Matt Fraction featuring Clint and Kate are worth chasing down in trade. But I digress...even though I do find borrowing the names of other people's fictional archers for the Archer-class amusing.

I almost want to write a fan fiction for the U.S.S. Merida just to say that the quote on the dedication plaque is "I'll compete for me own hand!"

Up next...the USS Joffrey (NCC-xxxx):

^ I don't, and I have to admit, when I saw USS Harper, I thought the same thing as tomswift2002, and thought "Oh, please, NO!".

But when I got to Everdeen and Cupid, I figured out what you were doing, and assumed Stephen was happily not your intent! :)

*goes digging through his e-mail archives*

...I never mentioned the guy to you by name, Christopher. Can't quite believe that, but it's happened. Let's both of us be glad of that and move on. Suffice to say, I like seeing starships named for Marc Garneau and Roberta Bondar much better.

And I think I'll leave it at that.
