Did Da Vinci Smell?

Janeway has a extremely long hair in the early seaaons, more than one pin was needed and no way it would take 30 seconds.

It's done sonically. The sonic hair machine has your preferences programmed and just whips it all into shape.

Must have missed that. I think we only saw Janeway in her bathroom twice. Meanwhile we saw B'Elanna take a shower:( Wait a minute! We did see her enjoying a bath!

This would work if they weren't all beaming down to planets and everyone eating and drinking and smelling whatever was there without any visible signs of ubertesting. If aliens are going to be eating and drinking on Voyager (I remember Kashyyk tried coffee) then they are not going to be worried about perfume. It's not consistent with what we've seen which is that the galaxy is a lot less allergenic than earth currently is.

Alien biology is alien.

Smelling yucky is probably a more likely issue to be concerned by.

But either they all smell offensive or they all smell fine.

If they all smell fine except for that one guy wearing aftershave his kids bought him, it ruins it for everyone else who is not militantly offensive.

The Vulcans kept all the Earthlings Quarantined from the rest of the Galaxy for a century because they were embarrassed by how bad humans smell.

Enough of that already!

:vulcan:

What IS a flag officer?

Commodore or above, or someone in charge of a lot of ships simultaneously.

I thought because Janeway was the highest ranking officer for 10's of thousands of light years, that that would qualify her as carrying the Federations Flag, or being in control of the "regional" Flag ship.

According to memory Alpha, When she THOUGHT she was briefly in charge of the Equinox and the Dauntless, that that would have qualified her as a Flag Officer because she was in charge of two ships.

All Star Fleet officers smell like four or five variations of hand sanitizer.
And Worf smelled like lilacs. KLINGON lilacs. Which smell like targ poo.

Did Da Vinci Smell?

Probably. After the fall of the Roman Empire, frequent bathing fell out of fashion in Western culture and wasn't popular again until the 19th century.

And Da Vinci wasn't his name, dammit! :brickwall:

When the Doctor was hiding in Seven's body ("Body and Soul"), he was offended at smelling Ensign Kim's body odor. So either men's cologne doesn't exist in the 24th century, or it's completely ineffective, or Kim doesn't use it at all.

his cheap commissary deodorant must have worn off. Bad call. Don't use replicator stuff...

Hello, Melakon, I haven't seen you for awhile.

I'd ask where have you been? But you're no monkey and I'm not Janeway.
I know. A pathetic reference to Resolutions.

Merry, Voyager! Now back to sleep for me.

I wonder if standards of personal hygiene have advanced as much as everything else in the 24th Century. Would we smell as bad to the Voyager crew as Leonardo likely would to us? If they traveled to 2014 Earth, would they think of us as unwashed barbarians?

Janeway hung out with a homeless man quite fine in Futures End.

The Doctor while he was borrowing Seven's nose, thought Harry stunk on ice.
