‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

Globe seems a little over-redesigned...and Jackson, shouldn't you be standing dramatically with your fists on your hips or something?

Looks like the Earth, with a huge hole leaving each layer exposed to the core. Billions die and Kal-El is all to blame.

I was way too excited to think of something like that.
Just would have come naturally to me.... :p

If you're ever in NYC, you can try again at the Daily News Building...used as the lobby and exterior of the Daily Planet in Superman: The Movie. (I had a geekgasm when I stumbled across it on one of my first visits to the city almost 20 years ago.)

So he's going to have a physical cape when he's walking around, but it'll be CG when he's flying?

My gosh, Henry looks massive this time. He was big before, but wow.

That's how Superman should be. Massive.

Not crazy about the slicked back hair.

Why? His strength doesn't come from his musculature.
How does he even get that definition? Lifting earths?
I always preferred him in shape, obviously, but not huge.

I witnessed them filming.

They added the cape for when they would film; when they were rehearsing Superman had no cape. Also, they made Superman fly with wires. So yes, Superman will fly in the film practically without CGI. It was quite a sight to behold to see Superman flying in downtown Chicago.

I just barely missed getting the chance to meet Ben Affleck today, but I am going to visit the set tomorrow with hopes of meeting/seeing him. They are filming here until Friday so I have a few more opportunities.

That's an interesting point. I've always wondered about that since I was a kid.. about how they always say that Superman and Supergirl get their strength from being from Krypton yada yada and that they have equal strength to each other for the most part.. which is why I wondered if Supes needed to look muscular, because Supergirl looks a lot weaker than he does in almost every drawing. At best she resembles a an average athletic teenage girl, but still someone who far weaker than a bodybuilder who is about 28.

Superman has a massive muscular physique because he's Superman. Otherwise, he's just an alien in a bad Halloween costume.

But if you need an in-universe reason, maybe it's an evolutionary thing due to Krypton's gravity.

Amy Adams looking fabulous as Lois Lane.

Interesting stuff...but I wouldn't call a couple of years a "big jump" when it roughly corresponds to the amount of time between films.

Yeah I suppose it's just the standard jump forward in time with sequels, but in this case it feels like a lot has changed that we never got to see-- his status with the city and military, his relationship with Lois, his job at the Daily Planet...

The last movie did such a good job (at least in my opinion) of tracking his growth and development into Superman, and I was really hoping to see that continue in the same gradual way. And to see how this particular Clark established himself in Metropolis and rebuilt his reputation as a hero, etc.
