First of all, I really liked this episode. There was a good sense of dread throughout, because I was worried that Beth would be raped or just plain killed (she's been a primo candidate for a season or two now). I like her, and similar to a number of others, her character has really grown, while still maintaining a strong moral core.
I really liked that smile from her after Noah escaped.
I'm a little bummed that Noah didn't try to help her though, but since he had a bum leg and no gun or weapon (pick up a stick buddy!) he knew that he had to go 100% just to escape for himself, let alone try to help Beth too.
I love the non-specific answers in this episode.
How many people are there her? Enough.
How long have you been here? Long enough.
And I don't care what anyone says. That place Beth was abducted was a trap.
Thanks so much for the reminder of the actual trap that they stocked for people. All through the episode I was wondering if she was really hurt when they picked her up, or if they just clocked her on the back of the head and kidnapped her.
The fact that it was a trap pretty much settles it.
As for Carol, my initial thought was that she's faking it, and just sneaking in in plain sight. We'll see. Other people are correct that you can't fake injuries, but I guess we'll just have to wait and find out. And considering how this episode unfolded after the cliffhanger last week, and how it seems like we may be getting all Abraham next week, we might have a bit of a wait here before finding out if Daryl's return to the church was just him and Noah coming to get backup to take on the slave-owner rapecops, or if it's post-rescue, and Beth pops out. Or Carol, or Noah, with the other ones dead.
Oooh, I got a good one: how about if Daryl captured one of the cops, and is bringing him back to help plan a rescue of Beth and Carol. Or another possibility: Daryl and Carol found a good cop (there's probably one or two good ones there, but if there's a big battle showdown in a few weeks, you know they'll stand with their brethren) who helped Carol sneak in, and now he's going with Daryl to see that there really still are groups of good people out there who don't need to turn others into slaves to survive.
The best guess is that Noah told Daryl and Carol about Beth, and that's when Carol decided to infiltrate, while Daryl went back for reinforcements. So that's Noah there in the bushes behind Daryl.
For the people who said the hospital isn't too bad, which of these two options is closer to what you think of as civilization:
A) mopping the floors, and raping people
B) sleeping in the leaves and dirt, and not raping people
And yes, here we have yet another group of people that are bad people. Surely there are some other good people still out there.
For that matter, does anyone remember that camp of people that the governor found in the woods when he was trying to hook up with his new group? Do we have any idea who killed them? Was it the governor or his new group? Or are there just more and more bad people roaming around out there?
