Did Nichelle Nichols leave Facebook/Twitter?

Hollywood Reporter and TMZ....are we seriously considering them reliable?

TMZ is what it is, but yes, I think everyone in their right mind is considering The Hollywood Reporter to be a reliable news source about the entertainment industry.

Agreed. I didn't say Nichelle or her traveling companion were guilty of any crimes. Just that The Hollywood Reporter, which is generally considered to be a reputable news source about the goings-on in the entertainment industry (particularly here Hollywood) and likely would not have run the story if it didn't have some basis in fact, i.e. that Nichelle and her friend were stopped at LAX.

And such was clearly stated in the article, Nichelle was not thought guilty of anything. It was her traveling companion who has the problems. She was allowed to go on.

I can't find her accounts anywhere! They're not just gone, they're nonexistent. Anybody know what the heck is going on???

Maybe she ditched her high-speed internet and went back to dial-up modems and Myspace? ;)

Seriously, I hope all is well with Nichelle and that she's around to tell us that MLK, Jr. story for many more years to come (though she may want to update it by invoking Kanye West's name instead of MLK, Jr.'s, you know, so the kids'll get it). ;)

Yeah, but she's probably deeply embarrassed about the entire situation. She's always carried herself with such class, and now to be associated with such an event. I don't blame her for closing down her Facebook/Twitter pages. D*mn!

She needs family around her, not whoever the Hell this assistant was.

No kidding - I'm sure she has some great-nieces or great-nephews who can be trusted not to bring any riff-raff mess around her. Who is that idiot in the first place? And how did he get that job?

She's lucky she's well-known as "Uhura from the original Star Trek." If she had been some unknown person, she would have been arrested as well.

Embarrassment may well be a part. Also, if he had access to the accounts, she may not want him playing out anything further embarrassing with the pages. Taking them down could be no more than damage control. As the article states, she was cleared of involvement so she can't bring the pages back in a few weeks after this dies down. It isn't worth talking about from her position.

Not to disagree with you, since I actually have no idea how reliable The Hollywood Reporter is considered to be... but just as a layperson reading the HR article, it really just seems to be reporting on the fact that TMZ reported this, more than anything else.

The Hollywood Reporter said:
Star Trek actress Nichelle Nichols was briefly stopped at LAX Friday, after meth fell out of her traveling companion's suitcase, TMZ reports.

The Hollywood Reporter said:
The actress, whom Trekies know as Lt. Uhura from the 1960s TV series, was reportedly at the American Airlines terminal...

The Hollywood Reporter said:
The suitcase in question reportedly had Nichols' name and tags on it...

The Hollywood Reporter said:
Nichols' rep declined to comment, but reportedly told TMZ...

Maybe it's me, but I'm not seeing any independent verification there at all.

This is Star Trek fandom. For better or worse, nothing ever "dies down" here.

I don't understand. Whether or not she is "cleared," why can't she bring the pages back online?

 It's a mystery.

I don't think it is. People are cruel, especially on the internet. Probably doesn't want to have to deal with people who will use it as an opportunity to denigrate her.

I heard what people posted to Robin William's daughter when she was just reaching out to the fans.
